But Carroll one of the best in the world to do it. She makes the right read there. Can't finish the play. Carroll takes a look. Calmly. Chipped to the high line. It is good. Graduate of LMU. 28 years young. Good middle serve. Carroll short poke. Good run. From Denenberg. Set a little off the net. Both Brazilian players there. To the line. That is good. From Carroll. Denenberg from the right. Denenberg trying to sneak it down the line with a quick swing. But there's the hand work of Carroll. One of the best in her size to do it. 11 out of the time out. United States just looking to manage this tough serve. There's a good pass from Donlon. And that's set just a bit tight I think for Donlon as she tries to cut it. But Carroll meets her the minute it leaves her hand. 5-3 now for Brazil. And to the hands of Carroll. She says enough seam swings for Denenberg. She shuts that down. 16-12. Brazil took set number one. That is going to bounce on the line. And that's just the way it's been rolling here. Jump serve from Rebecca. High spinning pass. Good roll up. Cross court rip is stuffed from Carroll. She takes a huge move into that cross. 21-14, 15-12. So a fantastic bounce back in qualification as Rebecca delivers a beautiful ace. And she brings out another ace. Fantastic serving for Rebecca. Really winding up. Love her courage and just the picture that Raiser and Katja are showing. A little bit more pressure on Katja. Aggressive serve but a better time block from Carroll. Incredible timing. Really hard to figure out exactly where Katja was going to go. Carroll low at Carroll as well. And Netherlands head into it. Quiggle now serving 3-0. What a start. Big swing. Big angle. There is Carroll and there is the crowd. And an ace from Rebecca. Big moment for the Brazilians. Can not get. Played 14 times just on the women's side in Ju-Al-Fassoa last week. The U.S. won 9 of those meetings. And there is the put away from Carroll. Her first block on the board. And there is an ace serve right down the pipe from Rebecca. And now they are done with T going on too. They are going to try her on 3 and they are going to get a block. I like the choice, Carroll. She is just playing so well right now. Oh my goodness, Rebecca. Get out of here. What a serve from Rebecca Cavalcanti. And you see she did not even bother moving. There was no point. And another ace. Making a walk off ace from Rebecca. A 21-14 demolition. And naked ace for Rebecca Cavalcanti. Had back-to-back aces to close that first set. Another ace serve for Rebecca Cavalcanti. And I do like the link play. Brandy using her hands a lot more. They are looking very smooth together. Carroll chopping to the line. Excellent change of pace there from Carroll. And Carroll has got this kind of a big butterfly. And she just takes the space, forcing the error. Keep it on Brandy. Tight ball. Pope. There is Rebecca. Chance of transition. She takes it off the fingertips of Wilkerson. 11-7-14. Wilkerson. Big approach. Good read. Rebecca off the net. Great pull from Wilkerson. Second time of asking. Cover from Mel. This ball is a little bit tight. And Mel is stuck at the net. And Carroll is there. Pass is handled so well from Mel. And Carroll with the perfect timing to swat that high line from Melissa. And Melissa has done a fantastic job until this moment of remaining high and sharp and aggressive. Option thrown right back from Carroll. And a right smile from Carroll. Just like that. Right there, Rebecca. Cross court to the sideline. Uncontainable. She wants more. Just stop it, Rebecca. Another ace cross court. Brazil in the green tops. USA in the red. And Carroll going to chip it to the sideline. They will target Carroll. Carroll gets lucky there. That goes right through the hands of Cannon. 11-9. Cannon working out wide. Dowls at the net. Excellent play. Oh, goodness. The poke shot and the finish from Rebecca. Just holding that finish to get the kill. Going high and getting that line. A short serve to Rebecca. The poke over. Oh, what a roll up there for Cannon. But Carroll somehow comes out of nowhere to get that block. I think this is the most favorite component of Carol Solberg's game. No matter what is happening on the other side, she always presses in Nice line to line serve. High pass from Cannon. Settled well, but that is dug on the run from Rebecca. Rebecca to the line. Graff will have a turn. Graff with a short drop here. Another dig from Rebecca. Look at this rally. Still going. Graff into the block. Carroll just going off here in this first set. What a defensive play by both of the Brazilians. Rebecca, she knows that this USA team are taller. She's got to guarantee the space and she certainly is. Oh, goodness me. There she is again. What can't she do? Back up for block number three in this match. That is the engine. That is Carol Solberg. Like that line to line serve. Carroll to the angle, but Graff is there and Cannon tries to poke it. It's just I think it finds the hands of Carroll. Movement on that flow from Tamela. Rebecca, how about it? Nice little chip high line. Love that. The temptation set from Carroll. Going a little bit further. Get your bearings on the net. Get the bearings of where your defenders are. Victoria taking a look at her feet for that prep. Down the line. Victoria will stay at the net. Tamela playing a little defense here. This one's still alive. Nobody up for Rebecca. Tight ball for Tamela. Trying to recycle that one and Carroll. Eight, ten. So they go off of Victoria. The way of Tamela. Another brilliant peel dig from Carroll. Nobody up and she hammers it. This is who you want at the service line. Pushes Tamela deep. Very well. What about me? I want into the action. Tamela coming in. Really important that you just get on the same page in terms of what you're going to do to defend. Tight ball for Rebecca. High dig. Tamela can get this one. Oh, and Carroll again. Just gets it done to Rebecca. Oh, Carroll. She said we want to go three. We want the gold. Second match point for Carroll and Rebecca. Carroll off the block and in. Carroll and Rebecca take the gold medal here in Rio de Janeiro. Carroll goes back to back. Unbelievable. Well, in her 228th tournament Carol Salgado rises to the top with a peak performance and it was incredible. Congratulations to Carroll and Rebecca. They are the best team here in Rio de Janeiro. This final swing from Carroll.
