The Piano Sonata in A minor, D. 845 (Op. 42), by Franz Schubert, is a solo piano sonata. Composed in May 1825 under the title Premiere Grande Sonata, it is the first of three sonatas published during the composer's lifetime; the others are D.850 and D.894. These works were conceived as a set and were composed during a period of relatively good health and spirits for Schubert. They are praised for their quality and ambition. The first sonata in particular marks a significant step towards the composer's mature piano sonata style, with the format and several characteristic stylistic elements continuing through to the last sonata.

The video of the Simme River was captured by Simone Schlegel in Simmental, Switzerland, and edited by Wenjing Ma.
