Au revoir, Ms. Amos. Welcome back to the channel.
Today, we're diving headfirst into a Lyon institution, a place that's been serving
up classic French cuisine and a whole lot of history for over 180 years, Brasserie George's.
I've heard countless stories about this place, the vibrant atmosphere,
the towering seafood platters, and the legendary beer, so I knew I had to experience it for myself.
Just look at this place. It's absolutely buzzing. The energy is incredible. You can feel the
history in these walls. This isn't just a restaurant. It's a living museum.
I've managed to snag a table, and I'm so excited to try some of their signature dishes.
I've heard their choucroute is a must-try, and of course, I'll be sampling some of their
locally-brewed beer. The waiter was so lovely, explaining some of the specials.
I've decided to start with the oysters, because when in Lyon, right? And then,
I'm going for the choucroute, which is a traditional Alsatian dish with sauerkraut,
sausages, and potatoes. Oh my goodness, these oysters are divine. So fresh and briny,
just perfect. And here it is, the choucroute. Look at this portion. It's absolutely enormous.
We've got different types of sausages, including the morto sausage,
which is a regional specialty, and of course, the sauerkraut, which is perfectly tangy.
Wow. The flavors are incredible. The sausages are so flavorful, and the sauerkraut is the
perfect balance of sour and savory. It's comfort food at its finest. And this beer,
brewed right here, is the perfect accompaniment. It's light and refreshing, and it cuts through
the richness of the dish beautifully. This place is just magical. It's the perfect blend
of old-world charm and modern vibrancy. Whether you're a local or a tourist,
you can't help but feel swept up in the atmosphere. It's a true Lyon experience.
Well, I'm absolutely stuffed. That was one of the most incredible meals I've had in a long time.
Brasserie George's definitely lives up to its reputation. It's a must-visit for anyone coming
to Lyon. If you're looking for a taste of authentic French cuisine and a truly unforgettable dining
experience, make sure you add Brasserie George's to your list. Thank you so much for joining me
