A series in which skilled craftsmen demonstrate the traditional Japanese technique of Kumiko.

Kumiko is a traditional woodworking technique that assembles wood into geometric patterns without using nails.
The “Kozu” introduced here consists of horizontal and vertical lines, and is a Japanese-style design with its origins in the “incense ceremony” said to have been perfected in the Muromachi period (1336-1573).

The purpose of this series is to record the disappearing advanced technology and pass it on to future generations.
