Camila Cabello showed up at my cousin's wedding last night in Iowa to sing her her father-daughter
dance song.
Like, this doesn't even sound like real life.
I just also have just the sweetest, most amazing fans in the world and just, you know, seeing
their reaction and seeing how invested they are in the music and, you know, seeing what
songs they connect to.
We kind of planned this and it was kind of a little last minute kind of thing that we
Camila Cabello making one fan, Kelly Murray's wedding day wish come true.
We were at our hotel yesterday and I run into Kelly and her family and she's like, guess
what?
I'm doing my father-daughter dance to your song, First Man.
And that's a really special song to me because it's a song that I wrote about my dad and
about, you know, the moment that I get married, which I have not been married yet, but I wonder
if that should be my father-daughter dance.
You said you'd never look so beautiful, Kelly, before all these years in the world.
You're looking at me, we're driving down the highway.
The song, which she released as a single in 2020 and performed at the Grammys that year,
You held me so tight, now someone else can.
But you were the first man that really loved me.
is off 2019's Romance, an album that certainly lives up to its name.
You were the first man that really loved me.
For like a lot of the experiences that I went through, like writing these songs was like
my way of kind of staying in touch with my emotions and just feeling it and not trying
to even figure it out intellectually, which I can do sometimes when I'm not in the studio.
I kind of like go more to my head and I think like when I'm writing, I like, I'm just feeling
and I'm just like very in touch with my emotions.
And so I think that's, I guess, a really important part of just being an artist.
Tears in your eyes, baby, it hurts me.
