First Lady Melania Trump: Fostering the Future Together

Good afternoon. Thank you for joining us today. We all have been in that moment of personal reflection, looking out over our city's life while time feels slow. Behind each flickering light is a family at home, while parents work tirelessly to unlock brighter futures for their children. We have all stood there, crazy. What can I do? As a child in a new world manifests their reality in the future. Their imagination is a place filled with pastimes which adults often consider insubordination. And it goes on. But I wonder, are these early childhood experiences rehearsals for the future perfection of society? The blueprint for our progress? As children, we all play marbles, blue paper airplanes, and run with a clean stream of our hands watching our paths. Great minds have turned marbles into microchips paper airplanes into drones and CHI into satellites. Innovation is wonderful. Our nations benefit from our advancement in technology, saving lives, expanding access to knowledge, connecting people, and of course, safety. Nothing comes before safety. We must safeguard healthy environments for our children, protect their personal freedom, their confidence, and motivation. Safety multiplies the future. Since technology is evolving and creates the decisive lawmaking, we must identify simple solutions to protect our children and communities. Remember, our next generation will also teach to revolutionize how we live, travel, design, and promote. The moment is now. I'm establishing Fostering the Future Together, a global coalition of nations committed to well-being of children with a promotion of education, innovation, and technology. Fostering the Future Together's mission is to ensure that every child can flourish in the future better. I will be hosting Fostering the Future Together's inaugural meeting at the White House during the first quarter of 2020. Please join me in Fostering the Future Together. Let's lead this movement in your region. Work with me to empower children to achieve new highs across Africa. Thank you.
