After my Suzuki DRZ400S left me temporarily stranded on a mountainside, I was very relieved to make it back to camp and enjoy the rest of my evening. First, I cooled off from the 98 degree heat by jumping in the icy Metolius river, then enjoyed a cold camping beer and a turkey sandwich for dinner. Afterward, I got a campfire going using some firestarters from Bigfoot Bushcraft and enjoyed a mellow campfire evening with a Mr. Puff Puff and a few more beverages. It was insanely hot that night, but my battery powered camping fan and Jackery power bank kept me cool enough to sleep through the night. The next morning, I used my new Jetboil French Press kit to whip up some morning camping coffee that I enjoyed beside the river before loading up the DRZ and all of my camping gear and heading towards Sisters for some exploring. I checked out Three Creeks Lake and the surrounding campgrounds before taking the Old McKenxzie highway to Dee Wright Observatory and finally heading through some of the forest fire damage on my way home.
