This year for our annual European summer trip we decided to venture off to the beautiful coast
of Croatia. In this video we're kicking things off in a city known for its history and breathtaking
views. Hello everyone my name is Jalyn and I'm a travel and lifestyle creator based in New York
City. Follow along as I take you through everything we did on our Croatia trip starting with the city
of Split. The hotel we chose for our trip is called Hotel Ambassador Split and it's located
just a short walk from Old Town and located right along the seaside. We booked a standard king room
with street views and the light coming in looked so nice every day. So this is our first room of
the trip in Split. We are in a regular street view room. I booked it on a Finaltown Resorts. They
didn't have any availability for an upgrade but they did say to come back in two days and check
but I love the windows. There's a closet on this side and then the bed is kind of just like
floating in the middle. There's like a desk, a city map of Split. Here's the bed and over there
there's a mirror slash tv and look at these windows and then over here there's a full-length
mirror and then the bathroom, standing shower and the sink. We spent the afternoon checking out some
of the amenities like the rooftop pool with views of the sea and then we headed towards Old Town
to grab some lunch. This restaurant is super popular and was highly recommended so of course
we had to come check it out. Croatia is known for its risotto so of course we had to get that to try
and it was so delicious. It was topped with slices of raw fish and being on the coast you know it was
super fresh. They also have a beautiful rooftop so I would recommend if you want to dine here to come
towards sunset because it was scorching hot in the afternoon. After that we just strode aimlessly
through Old Town and it was so cool to see all of the old stone walls and take in all the sights.
With Old Town Split being relatively small it was super easy to get around on foot. We walked over to
the Diocletian's Palace which was originally built as a residence for the Roman emperor and it was
actually used as a filming location so we were able to film a lot of stuff there. We also had a
If you're needing an AC break or just want a midday caffeine I would highly recommend stopping
by D16 which is a third wave coffee shop that has amazing coffee. I got an oat milk iced latte and it
was the best coffee this trip. After that we headed towards the Split Promenade which is located right
along the water and there's a bunch of small businesses set up for you to shop and then we had
an early dinner at Boca Mora which is recommended by a local for their pizza. If you do decide to
dine here I would recommend getting the truffle pizza. We got the mushroom and prosciutto which
is still really good but per local recommendations we definitely missed out.
From there we headed back to our hotel and just called it a night because we had an early morning
the next day and for breakfast we just ate at our hotel. That's one of the perks for booking with Fine
Hotel and Resorts you get free breakfast. Not sponsored just very passionate about credit card
benefits. I also brought a matcha travel shaker for the first time and it was so easy to use.
Our waitress came up to us and jokingly said that I was causing a disturbance because everyone kept
wanting to order one. After breakfast our tour guide met us in the lobby and brought us to Kroka
National Park which is about an hour and a half drive outside of Split. We booked a private tour
so that we could go at our own pace and he just gave us a location to meet us when we were done
and it was super easy to get around. The main attraction here is the waterfall and it's pretty
the falls are a bunch of shops and stands for you to get food drinks or just cool down from the heat.
After that make your way over to the boat transport. There's a bunch of signs that
lead the way and it is included with your entrance ticket. It takes you on a 20-ish
minute boat ride over to a small charming town and that's where you will meet your driver if
you book a private tour. After meeting back up with our driver we made our hour and a half journey
back to Split where he dropped us off at a hotel. We had to quickly get some work done before heading
back out to Old Town and getting some lunch. Okay so we just got to Parasol which is a restaurant
that I had bookmarked. Taking a break from the heat because it says it's like 80 something
outside. Feels like 100. It's so hot outside. We got the steak and we got a salad and it looks so
good. Vegan salad. Oh vegan salad yeah.
Fire?
We had an early date the next day so we just grabbed some green juice which was definitely
much needed. We drink this every single day at home and this place was so good. Tastes exactly
like how we make it. So good. The next morning we got picked up by our driver and I actually
booked this transfer online that takes you from Split to Dubrovnik with a stop in Mostar which
is in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It's a great way to explore and cross off another country.
It was relatively smooth. The driver just handles everything including a passport control.
I was car sick per usual. That's me during every ride, airplane ride, boat ride, everything so
that's normal for me but it was about a two and a half hour drive and next thing you know we made
it to Mostar. Our driver gave us about two hours of free time so we made our way over to the famous
landmark which is the Mostar bridge. It's a rebuilt 16th century ottoman bridge and the views
were so pretty. It was insanely hot this day. There were so many people on boats and bridge diving.
Time was actually moving really fast after exploring so we made our way over to a nearby
restaurant with stunning views of the bridge and we just enjoyed lunch. Want to share?
Can we just do one of that and then um yeah and then one coca-cola please.
Andy got the shish kebab, beef shish kebab. They didn't have rice but it's good protein. How is it?
By the time we finished lunch our two hours was pretty much up so it was time to meet up our
driver. Of course I had to grab a magnet for my sister so I did that and then we started our two
and a half hour journey to Dubrovnik. And that pretty much wraps up the first half of our trip
to Croatia. I hope you guys liked this video and found it helpful. If you have any questions
please leave them down below and I'll be sure to answer them. We had the best time in Split. I would
say three or four days is perfect for us and getting to do this quick trip to Mostar. I would
highly recommend it if you guys do make the trip from Split to Dubrovnik or if you just want to do
a day trip from either city. Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next video in Dubrovnik.
