I caught up with Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell and Hannah Kamen to chat all things Thunderbolts, from what is the wildest fan theory you have seen to a quick fire round asking important questions like tea or coffee?
And I should just kind of grab one on the go?
Yeah, so when it stops, it stops, yeah, on the arrow.
So, well, yeah.
We're all learning here.
Just grab some big thread out there.
And you are going to help me stop it.
Wait, us?
Yeah, you.
What, you got someplace to be?
I love that guy.
It's the Wheel of Fortune.
Okay.
You don't win anything.
You get asked questions from a randomer.
Seems like a win to me.
So, spin away, I'd say.
Oh, cool.
Good strategy.
No.
Oh, it spins.
It's got a...
It's got good spin.
All right, here we go.
Okay, so just peel it and then read out what it says on there,
and I'll give you a question based on what it says.
Fan...
Fan question.
All the fan questions, I asked out to my audience.
One person just wrote Pedro.
I was like, what does that even mean?
He's not in the movie.
Could he ask something about the movie?
But I did get a really good one.
What is the wildest fan theory you've heard about this movie or yourself?
When the posters first came out,
there was an obsession over my fingers
because they were kind of at the edge of the frame,
and it looked like I had six fingers.
A lot of people were counting them,
thinking that either that it was AI
or that maybe he was a mutant of some sort.
Oh, that's interesting.
And there's a lot of theories about that,
and I felt bad for debunking it.
You should have got, like, a prosthetic one
and then just posted, like, a picture in the...
Yeah, that's nice.
Like, just suddenly, all in a cup of tea,
and really sent internet to everybody.
Early on, like, maybe six months ago or whatever,
people just, like, who are these guys?
And, like, who cares?
This is the big team.
Why are we watching any of them?
They all suck.
We don't want this movie.
Oh, after Black Widow,
because, obviously, Yelena gets snapped when I did Hawkeye.
I mean, it's really sweet.
But they were like,
oh, maybe it's Yelena that dies and Natasha comes back.
I was like, oh, they love Natasha so much
that, like, they really want me to die
so that she can come back.
No, I think Yelena has set...
I think Yelena has really set...
I love her sarcasm and dry sense of humour as well,
so I think, like, a fan favourite,
a real fan favourite from what I've seen as well.
Obviously, you've really, really smashed that whole...
I'm so nervous.
Really?
Yeah, cos I think when I stepped into the role,
you know, you're given a lot of power
to create what you want to create with this character,
but the character had already been...
She was in comic books,
so I know that people already had ideas of who she was
and she was a bit more sexual
and she wore different clothes with her tummy out
and I just didn't really want to do that
and I think when I put my spin on Yelena,
I was always a bit like, ah, but they might not like it.
They might actually want what was there.
And I'm just so grateful that everybody has accepted her
and all of her quirkisms and...
Dig.
Oh, dig deep.
Dig deep.
I like this.
All of your characters kind of go on a journey
throughout the film.
Was there anything that you learnt about yourselves as well?
I didn't learn anything about myself.
You were already perfect.
Your walk is just so like...
Emoji answer.
Explain the film in three emojis.
I'll give you four.
Come on, be nice.
Okay.
Wow, this is...
Clouds.
Because that's where you start in the sky?
No, that's where...
Dark.
Clouds.
A robot arm.
Cool.
That's a great use of that.
Yes.
Robot arm and turd.
Yeah, nice.
And then...
And then sun coming over the horizon.
And then sun coming over the horizon and cartwheel.
And then cartwheel just as a little...
As an asterisk.
And then that.
That's why I got it right.
Would you rather...
Would you rather have flying powers
or be able to go back in time?
Back in time.
I actually said,
if you had a superpower, what would it be?
And I said time travel.
I would travel through time.
The most iconic time.
The most amazing place to see it.
Which I thought was a great answer.
Yeah, that was mine, yeah.
And guess what?
I do have flying powers.
It's called British Airways.
I'd be too scared to go back in time
and mess something up.
I think you're putting a little too much pressure on yourself.
If you have to take that responsibility...
I do think about that all the time.
Flying powers too, it's like...
You go up in the air, you pop into a building.
There's so many issues if you really think...
Also, you're not guaranteed to go back in time
to the moment in time that you think you're going to go back to.
You're like, I want to go back to the medieval times.
What if you just get dropped off on a field?
And you're like, is this what you see?
I had one chance.
I love this movie of Wyatt Russell.
Stuck 20 years ago in a field in Trumpshire.
I got to choose when, but not where.
Damn it.
There you go.
Quickfire.
Okay, quickfire.
In case you all have to answer this.
Okay, so, tea or coffee?
Coffee.
Iron Man or Captain America?
Iron Man.
Iron Man or Captain America?
Iron Man.
Captain America.
Horror or romance?
Horror.
Fantastic Four or X-Men?
X-Men, because I haven't seen it.
Yes, X-Men so far.
Okay.
Villain or hero?
Villain.
Yeah.
Sea view or city view?
Sea view.
City view.
Oh, really?
Oh, yeah.
Who's the best Thunderbolt?
And you can't see yourself.
After yourself.
Who's the best?
Second.
Best in what?
Just general rounder.
General rounder.
I'm going to go unconventional.
I'm going to say Taskmaster.
Why the laugh?
Because it's a great answer.
Thank you.
I actually loved Taskmaster.
I would say you.
No, because of the positivity.
The driving force.
The energy.
Yeah.
You.
All right.
I feel the same.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
It's such a nice day.
I feel the same.
And then what's your guilty pleasure?
Staying up way too late.
Real Housewives.
Okay, I got it right.
All the Real Housewives.
All of that.
Broadway TV.
About once every six months.
Bathtub.
Warm bubble bath.
Smoking a cigar.
I do.
That's not a guilty pleasure.
Ashen right in the water.
In the water.
Oh, come on.
Ashen in the water is a little insane.
It's not insane.
It's gorgeous.
That's not a guilty pleasure.
It's like I was born in Paris.
That's amazing.
That's a pleasure.
A guilty pleasure.
Dude, that is a pleasure.
Smoke a little weed and watch a little Temptation Hour.
Fine.
That's good enough for me.
Should we do one more?
Yes.
And then we'll do one last one.
Let's do it.
What is it?
I can't see.
It is.
I like the maroon.
What do we got?
Spill the tea.
Oh.
Okay.
Is there anything that did not make it in the movie that you would have liked to have
seen?
Yeah.
Tell me about it.
Don't just say yeah.
No, I can't.
Oh, no.
We all had to land on specific marks and when we watched it back, both Lewis and I, our
hair was all over the place and we looked like little voles coming out of a hole.
Just seeing the sun for the first time.
It's supposed to be spill the tea.
You've got to spill the tea.
I've got to spill the tea.
Loads didn't make it in there.
It's too big.
You can't, I mean, you have to cut it down somewhere.
Oh, one that I'm really happy about.
You know when at the end in the original cut and there was one thing I was like, guys,
can we get rid of this?
She pops up and she goes, is everybody all right?
And I was like, we can't, please.
It's so cringe.
So it's out.
I'll give you an easier one then.
Who was the most fun on set?
Look, that one's easy.
Okay.
Everybody.
I'm going to go, yeah.
I mean, like seriously, the dynamics between us were amazing, but I got to say this.
And again, I'm going to go anti-hero here.
He's going to kill me when he hears this, but like by far the crankiest and by far my
favourite, Sebastian Stan.
Sebastian Stan, some days he would show up just so cranky and I would laugh and laugh
and hug him and love him so much.
He's extraordinary.
And I think that was one of the great things about this dynamic is that we all like love
each other for our horrible qualities, I think just as much as our good qualities.
We didn't need to be charming with each other.
We could be like truly brother and sister.
That's amazing.
Yeah, it was really great.
We would have so many bits that we'd go down a tangent, like comical bits that when we
were locked in, it was like no one could ask us to do anything.
We were like locked into the bit and then they'd go, okay, ready and then we'd have
to suddenly start acting and both of us would have to be really, really good at suddenly
going back to like normal deadpan face.
Yeah.
Which is hard to do for some people, but really easy for other people.
I can imagine, I can imagine.
Well, thank you so much for an amazing movie.
I appreciate it and thank you so much for this time as well.
I appreciate it.
Give me your time.
I will take this wheel off you.
Thanks, love.
Thank you.
Have a good one.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
See you.
Thank you.
Okay, that was really good.
We are the Thunderbolts.
Can't call ourselves that.
God, thank you.
Marvel Studios Thunderbolts.
