Scarlett Johansson Reflects On Robert Redford Inspiring Her At 12 (EXCLUSIVE)

Cut! Good. One more. Watching Bob Redford command a scene, you know, he was blocking a complicated scene inside a riding ring. You handled that pretty well. I think it's time you started earning your keep around here. And then on the flip side, he was coming and having very, you know, intimate conversations with the actors and, you know, taking... There was always time to let the performances, you know, find... allow for a period of discovery for the actors to find the performances. He was really sweet and down-to-earth. Following Redford's passing on Tuesday, Scarlett thanked him for his belief in her and for his grace and guidance, saying, You inspired so many artists, me included, to go deeper, to stay present, to push creative boundaries, and to explore further. And for that, we are forever grateful. It's a great loss, first off. At the London premiere of his film One Battle After Another, Leo also paid tribute to Redford, both environmental activists. Not only was he an incredible actor, he was an exceptional director as well as actor, but more than anything, he was an avid environmentalist and spoke for indigenous rights. He was a member of the NRDC. I mean, he was a hero to many in our industry, including me.
