I'm very happy to be able to present this project that we started in January
together with SABAP in Florence and SUPSI in Switzerland,
the professional university school of Switzerland and Italy,
a study deepened from the point of view of the technique,
of the production of Lorenzo Bartolini's models in our gym
in order to understand the internal armor,
how these models, these sculptures were formed,
and also with 3D scans to be able to compare the surface of the model
with the surface of the marble executions that are then found in other institutions
or, for example, as in our case, most of the works that we studied
we compared them with the marble executions in Santa Croce, here in Florence.
We have collected information on the state of conservation of plaster models,
which are traditionally very fragile and very delicate objects,
and in addition to this, it is also possible to have information
on the way in which the artist made them,
so we also have historical and artistic information.
The desire and hope is that this type of investigation,
which has now been carried out on a small group,
although representative of models,
can be extended to a larger number
so that the information collected will be more meaningful.
