Poor thing, Emma Stone has a wardrobe malfunction at the 2024 Oscars. After winning the Oscar for
Best Leading Actress at the 96th Annual Academy Awards on March 10th, Emma is seen bursting with
shock and apparently she burst open her dress too. And the Oscar goes to Emma Stone.
She is the second woman to be nominated Best Picture for the same.
While pointing to the back of her seafoam green Louis Vuitton gown,
the Poor Things actress shows that the zipper has ripped open. After accepting the award while
surrounded by past Best Actress winners including Jennifer Lawrence, Sally Field, and many more
icons, the 35-year-old shares that she thinks she knows how the malfunction happened.
My dress is broken. I think it happened during I'm Just Ken.
I'm pretty sure. Earlier in the night the actress cheered on her La La Land co-star Ryan Gosling
while he performed I'm Just Ken, which was nominated for Best Original Song,
even taking a moment to sing with him. On the red carpet at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles,
Emma dished to Live From E! host Laverne Cox all the details in her peplum style dress
and why her role as Bella Baxter in Poor Things was life-changing.
We are live from E! at the Oscars. Here now is Best Actress nominee, the one and only Emma Stone.
Gosh, it was seven years ago you won Best Actress for La La Land. You're back tonight as a front
runner for your virtuosic performance in Poor Things. Is it sweeter being back this time and
for this film that is so provocative and thought-provoking? It's truly just the biggest joy
to get to be with everybody from this film because every single person on this it's so detailed and
the world was so specific and crafted with a lot of a lot of love and care and so I think to just
get to be with so many people from the film is like the best thing ever. We were just talking
off camera about the film and I was talking about her journey, her arc, Bella's arc to empowerment
and you said that she was always empowered and I was just like that was an aha for me about
thinking about even as I thought she was this infant girl in a woman's body she always had a
sense of empowerment. Can you talk a little bit about that because I'm like yeah that's right.
I just see her as someone filled with so much curiosity and joy and obviously this is a metaphor
you know it's not based on a true story it can't really happen but that idea of you know if you
were never small and fragile and you could explore the world freely what would you be and who would
you become if you were just kind of freely able to to lean into to pleasure and to too much food
and too much experience or not enough like if she just she gets to experience everything in a way
that I don't know that many people ever do and so it was yeah it was incredible to play. Incredible
we have to talk fashion what story are you telling me this look Bella had sleeves and now you have
like this lovely peplum yes it's um it's uh I don't even know how to explain it they said that
this um this print is kind of shell or this fabric is shells which I love um and it's Louis Vuitton
you look stunning congratulations I'm obsessed with this film and this performance just the
physicality I could talk to you for hours about the physicality congratulations have the best
time tonight thank you so much good to see you
