VIDEO DESCRIPTION: After buying a wooded property and finding a cute little shed nestled in the woods, Jennifer converted the shed into her own Tiny Home. The goal was to live in it temporarily while she built a larger, permanent home on the property, but it ended up being her little sanctuary for three years! While she is thankful for the space and the time she spent in it, she is ready to sell it and send it off on its next adventure. Check out the link below if you're interested in purchasing it!

It was actually a Home Depot shed, which is surprising because it honestly doesn't look
like it. My dad and I really fixed it up to make it livable for me. So about five feet over here
we are now in the kitchen. One of the things that that also drew me to this place is the high
ceilings because I'm a fairly tall gal. There's no way to do this gracefully. One of the benefits
of it being technically a shed, it can be put on a flatbed and moved to anywhere.
Hi, I'm Jen. Welcome to my tiny house. I've always done things a little bit differently.
So with my first house, I rehabbed it. From there, I wanted to do something different
and build a new house, but didn't know quite how to go about it. When I was looking for
property to build on, my mom actually came across this property. I didn't really know
how I was going to go about living on the property and building. So the fact that this
property already had a tiny house and it was ready to go was the selling factor and just how
adorable it is. I thought this is perfect. I can live here for however long it takes and I can
oversee the build of the new house. I didn't think it was going to be three years, so that took some
getting used to, but everything turned out great and I actually miss living in the tiny house.
The previous owners, they told me a bit about it and they said that it was actually a Home Depot
shed that they had converted, which is surprising because it honestly doesn't look like it. They did
such a great job with the interior and with adding everything that you really need to live.
My dad and I really fixed it up to make it livable for me. We built the stairs. We also
added most of the deck and the little covering. We did all the plumbing on the outside,
really finished everything out.
From what I was told from the original owner, it was a Home Depot shed
and they added insulation and all the things that you need to make it a tiny cozy little house.
My dad and I actually fixed up a lot on this tiny house from when I first got it.
We added the porch. We added the little awning. I just love it. It's so much fun to just
be out here and be in the woods. I love antiquing and I started collecting tractor chairs and
it just seemed like a natural spot. So my dad, when we cut some of the stumps,
he put those on here. It was a really good idea. One thing I love about this tiny house is
my retractable screen door, which is great on hot summer days. I can just close this and
not worry about any bugs, but still get a really nice breeze. Let me show you guys the inside.
We've got a little sitting area. I've had a TV mounted up there, so you know, just enough room
for me and my dog Penny to kind of relax and read a book. The people that owned it before me,
they did such a good job with decorating. I just fell in love with how cozy they made it.
And her husband, he did all of the detail work and they came up with the design themselves.
So about five feet over here, we are now in the kitchen. So we've got a nice little
cooking area. I had a hot plate when I lived here and a little microwave oven and it did the job.
I had a great meal delivery service. So I really didn't have to go grocery shopping much. And you
know, the full size fridge really helped. If you love to bake, or even if you just love eating
fresh breads and pastas like me, I have a hot tip for you. Wild Grain, who's the sponsor of this
week's episode, is the first bake from frozen subscription box for sourdough breads, artisanal
pastries, and fresh pastas. What I love about Wild Grain is that they have options for everyone's
needs, including plant-based and gluten-free options. On their website, they also have a
Kids Love It label, which I find very helpful for my family. My kids are noodle fanatics,
so today I'm cooking the spinach and ricotta pasta. And for dessert, strawberry cheesecake,
which only requires thawing. I also love their sourdough and hot dog buns because they use a
slow fermentation process, which is easier on my belly than store-bought breads. Every item
bakes from frozen in less than 25 minutes, and for every box ordered, they donate two meals to a
non-profit of my choice at no extra cost. If you want to check out Wild Grain, make sure you click
on the link in the description to get $30 off your first box, and you'll get free croissants for life.
But right now, let's get back to our tiny home tour. So there's plenty of seating here for two.
If I ever have other people over or more people over, we would just take it outside and plenty
of space there. I've had quite a few gatherings, mostly during the summertime, where we could all
gather outside and, you know, do a big barbecue. And I've even had people stay the night.
We do a big inflatable bed right here, and you can fit three or four people in here, surprisingly.
And then all of my open shelving for plates and cookware, stuff like that.
A couple shelves, really all you need. So I've actually got a tankless hot water heater on the
other side of the shower. That was one of the things that we replaced because they had small
tanks under each sink and the shower, and it just makes more sense to have a tiny little tankless
one. There's no dishwasher, so nice big farm sink and full-sized fridge. One of the things that
also drew me to this place is the high ceilings, because I'm a fairly tall gal, and I was able to
put my cute little chandelier. So this was my closet, and I've got tons of clothes, so maybe
half of them fit in here, if that. All right, so next place I'm going to show you is the bedroom.
So these are stairs that me and my dad built, mostly for my dog, because she wouldn't go up the ladder.
So there's plenty of headroom up here, enough room for two people, and I've managed to fit a full-size
bed, plus some little books, knickknacks, and whatnot, and you've got a nice big window behind you.
So this was another thing that my dad and I added was the wall. It was completely open, but for
safety reasons, we closed part of it, but there's enough room to get nice airflow
in the summers when it gets warm, and I just kind of like being able to see the whole tiny house
from here. One thing I do miss about living in here is the sound of the rain
hitting the metal roof. That's always like a favorite sound of mine. There's no way to do
this gracefully. The last part of the tiny house is the bathroom. We've got a pretty good-sized
shower that is powered by the tankless water heater over here, and then we've got a little
RV toilet, which serves its purpose. Actually quite a bit of room in here. Got a full-size
vanity here. So I put this vanity in, managed to get a full-size one with tons of storage,
and I added little cutesy shelving, and then we've got additional storage here, and there's
quite a bit. So nothing tiny about the storage. You have to really utilize all of your space,
and this guy has been a lifesaver. On winter nights, it gets a little cold in here,
and this thing puts out a lot of heat. So this is the only heat source, and I don't have any AC,
so it's open windows and lots of fans. All right, and here is my tiny shower.
The previous owners had a really cool idea with the metal roofing. I really like it, and yeah,
there's plenty of room here. Living tiny, you have to get creative with door ideas, so I put little
magnets and a shower curtain. I only shared the space with Penny, my dog, and every time I would
close this, she felt the need to come in and share the space with me. So after living in the tiny
house for three years and watching my new house come to fruition, I no longer need the tiny house,
and I'm a little sad about that, but it's gonna find a new home, and it's currently for sale.
One of the benefits of it being technically a shed, it can be put on a flatbed and moved to
anywhere. I've got suggestions of Airbnb-ing, you know, renting it out to a traveling nurse
or a college student, you know, somebody that's saving up to build their own home like I did,
you know, a mother-in-law suite or, you know, a teenager you want to get out of the house.
This would be the perfect little spot to live, you know, indefinitely or just for a few years,
so I'm hoping that somebody else can use it and love it as much as I did. If you like this week's
