All right, so fun one today.
It's all around like fitness, workout, adventure tech.
I feel like I haven't touched on some of this stuff.
A lot of you ask what like my personal workout routine is.
I typically don't share that on social because that's like my own time.
Here's some of the stuff that I personally use and maybe I'll share some of the secrets,
some of the workout stuff that I do.
So first one I think is really important is audio.
So I've got a pair of headphones and a Bluetooth speaker.
So let me explain the rationale.
So for headphones or earbuds specifically, I am more of like in the ear.
I never like to work out with like over the ear headphones.
I find that I sweat, they get too hot.
It's just gross.
These are the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2s.
They're within a year old.
I might be slightly biased because they're orange, but these are the very first products
that actually track your heart rate.
So if you are someone that doesn't typically wear say a smartwatch, I'll get to this in
a second.
You can actually see your heart rate through your phone if you're wearing these headphones.
So they slip on nice and snug because they have the wingtips.
So no matter what type of workout you're doing, whether it's HIIT, whether you're running,
you're in the gym, you're doing just a bit more adventurous stuff, you move your head
around a lot.
The last thing that you want to do is for your earbud to fall out.
And all the workouts that I've done, I've never had an issues with a fit.
And that's more than I can say for other pairs of headphones.
They're IPX water resistant.
So no matter, once again, how much you sweat, it is hot right now.
So in the summer, you do get a bit toasty.
These still work perfectly fine.
But like I said, the main feature of these is being able to track your heart rate without
wearing a supplemental device like a smartwatch or even like a heart rate monitor.
If you do that, it works both with Android or Apple or iOS, I guess, unlike AirPods,
which kind of typically push you to one ecosystem or the other.
They sound pretty similar to I would say AirPods Pro 2s, similar profile, obviously beats his
own by Apple, but it's nice that they pair with Android, which you'll see the phone in
a second.
So those are my earbuds of choice.
They sound really good.
And if you are someone that does like home workouts, so check out this Sony speaker.
It's a bit on the larger side.
I would never say travel around with this, but if you are working out at home, this is
the Sony HT-AX7 Bluetooth speaker works like a traditional one.
It's kind of plug and play.
You pair your phone via Bluetooth, but say you are working out in your home workout area,
your basement, wherever you have your home gym, you can actually place these speakers
at different areas within your place.
So say you're doing a bit of a hit workout.
You're running from one area.
I'll use my little Lego dude as reference.
You're working out in one area.
You're going to station A. This speaker in the corner here is still producing sound.
Obviously the bases.
And then say you are locating yourself to this area for high knees, whatever you happen
to do.
This speaker also has sound.
So it's nice that these pucks work wirelessly.
You can place them anywhere in your house, in your home gym setup, and you can always
just use this not as a gym speaker and as your regular speaker as well.
So that sound.
Okay.
So to your phone, I know technically you shouldn't be using your device when you are working
out, but there are a lot of times when you need it to say, look up a workout.
You obviously might be doing the good old thumb workout if you like to lift weights
and then go back to your phone.
But the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 or Z Flip 7, wherever you are is a great one because
if you are say following a workout class, so whatever you choose, whether that's a Peloton
or you're following a YouTube video, I was actually at the Google launch yesterday.
They have a new Fitbit training coach coming sometime in the fall, things like that.
You're following along on something.
Having a folding device is actually really beneficial because you can actually watch
the video like this.
There are so many times when you're doing a workout, I'm doing say like a yoga workout
where I am like on my hands, knees, I'm in this weird position.
It is so hard to see a phone when it is fully flat, like I'm trying to lean over and look
at it.
Having a flip phone just makes it so much easier to see what's going on on your screen,
whether you're following a trainer, whether you're following like a bit of a tutorial,
so much easier than it's when down flat.
And another cool thing is say you are filming yourself, you're working out with once again
your trainer, you want to see your technique, your form.
Typically you would have to stand your phone upright.
So whether you have a stand, this one, the flip has this built-in kickstand with the
bottom of the phone.
Once again, little Lego guy as an example, his arms don't move.
So say he's doing wrist curls and he is showing off to his trainer, he wants to see what he's
actually doing.
I can record that with the flip phone, with the front facing camera and actually see what's
going on on the cover screen.
So useful for working out, I would never recommend, you know, you're on your device while you
are doing it, but in those instances where you need to, I think the flip is a cool little
addition to the tech space.
And since I am using a Samsung device, I thought it was great to pair them since they would
just work well together.
So this is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
The only new thing this year is the actual color way for the Ultra lineup.
They also just have the Galaxy Watch 8, 8 Classic.
Those are also great watches, but the Ultra is for, I guess, like ultra workouts for people
that really like to use them for those purposes.
Other great features of the Ultra 2 mostly are around the battery life and the performance.
So unlike other smartwatches where you have to charge them every day, every day and a
half, this lasts like around 50 hours.
So if you're doing ultra long marathons, this is IP68 water resistant.
It's got dual GPS.
So if you are working out in an area with no cell service, you can still connect.
It's built super well and rugged, titanium around the outside, obviously sapphire glass
for the screens, both on the front as well as the back to track your heart rate.
It's a nice watch and I prefer this over say the Apple Watch Ultra more so just because
I'm a classic like circular watch person.
I know that it has the square around the outside, but for whatever reason, Apple just still
has the traditional square.
Give me a circular watch any day of the week.
So that is device and watch.
Next is kind of like your bags or how you would carry your workout gear.
So these are two options from grams 28.
It's part of their new adventure line.
So we'll start with this one first because I've used it more recently for some hiking.
This is like a backpack version.
So this new lineup is made out of expat material, which is essentially a synthetic durable material
on the outside.
So it's water resistant.
You can take this, you know, when you're on the go, typically grams 28 products are made
out of like high end quality leather.
This one's made more so for adventuring a bit more rugged.
So a couple of these features, you can easily see the main compartment on the inside, which
you can access from the front.
It has these zippers so you can fully access everything on the inside.
What I really like about hiking, say for example, bags is water bottle containers on the side.
You never know what you're up to when you are hiking.
You never know if you're putting your backpack down, it's easy, easy for it to slip out.
This one has these little button loops, which keeps everything in place.
You can still carry around like your main gear, whether it's your hiking stuff, it even
has room for say like a laptop or an adventure photographer, still super comfy to wear.
It has the chest straps, which are really important for hiking.
And say for example, from my last hike, my shoes, which collect, you know, a lot of gunk,
a lot of dirt.
They have these little travel packs that you can just put your stuff into.
So all the dirt collects in the bag, they don't get into your main compartment.
So say you're done your hike, zip them up and that kind of slots into the main compartment
there.
So that's the hiking backpack.
The next one is their adventure duffel.
I would say more so for everyday gym use.
So this is great to take up, like I said, every day when you're going to the gym, it's
made out of that same X-Pack material on the outside.
So for example, I typically put, you know, my gym shoes, once again, a water bottle,
not like a big supplement person, but for example, I have some electrolytes, protein
bars after the gym, which I'll get to at the end of this video.
And those usually slip into the other side of the bag.
And then say, maybe some of your valuables, like your wallet, your phone can fit into
the far pocket.
It's simple.
And it also comes with a shoulder strap if you want to sling that around your shoulder
and even has this little luggage strap, if you are someone that likes to carry this around
with you.
So really handy bag, obviously very durable, cool to see Grams 20 getting into like a different
lineup.
They are in the pricier end, but I think once you invest into one, you can use it for years
to come.
It's just cool to see them get into a different line of stuff.
So the next one, we kind of had it on the inside.
Is that really tech related?
It's my water bottle.
I'll just obviously leave a link.
This is called the Hydro Flask.
So instead of buying, you know, your three, $4 bottle every day, just use an aluminum one.
You can get them, you know, online off of Amazon.
Fun little story.
Since this is fitness related, I got this from the Apple fitness studio.
When I got to check that out, I was actually more interested in how they shot the episodes.
I kind of geeked out around the production.
Really cool to see personally.
Like I said, I don't use Apple fitness or any of the other paid subscriptions.
I typically follow like the same workout routine I've done since college university days.
It's like a hypertrophy workout.
I focus on a different muscle group every day.
So say today would be chest day, four exercises, four sets, 10 to 12 repetitions of each until
I'm fatigued and kind of rinse and repeat for years.
I would say the most important thing with fitness or working out is the consistency,
but that was off topic, off tangent, not really.
But that is my water bottle.
For any of you that want to see some tech, if you are crazy enough to drink sparkling
water, which I am a big fan of, check out this aero flow.
So it essentially fills up with regular water and you can insert these replaceable cartridges,
which you can use them like three to four times per use before you can swap them.
And it has this button up top, which you can carbonate your water.
And like I said, I personally love sparkling water or love carbonated water.
Even when I'm working out, I know I'm really psycho like that, almost a bit spicy.
You know how much carbonation I've added.
Cool little piece of tech that's related to water, but for your water game, just have
a reusable bottle.
Okay, this is a heavy one.
So the next one is like around weights.
So this is technically a Tempo weight set.
I know that Tempo has an entire range of like tech products.
They have that like big mirror that you can use to see like different workouts.
But for their weights, I actually just bought these because they are adjustable.
You can get once again, any ones off of Amazon.
You can see that the weights kind of slide on.
You'd be surprised how heavy this one weight set can get.
Weirdly enough, since COVID, I actually have not had a gym membership.
I'll actually show some B-roll or if you actually like look this way, like camera, yes.
I've got a squat rack right there.
So that is a squat rack from Gorilla.
If there is one piece of like home workout tech to get, get a rack.
You can do anything from like bench press to pull-ups to squatting, just hitting the
major muscle groups and then everything else.
As long as you have like a couple free weights, you can work your accessory muscles like your
biceps, triceps, every other muscle group.
Like I said, I haven't had that gym membership for five years.
How long has COVID been?
Six?
Time flies and still in decent-ish shape.
So next piece of tech, this is more around like recovery.
Usually I have this in my gym bag as I've gotten a little older over the years and need
to focus more on recovery.
This is just a Theragun or I guess the actual brand is called Therabody.
It's just a little massage gun.
So I know that there's a bunch of different modes that you can go through.
I just do like the auto and in an area that I'm sore, say, you know, I'm done golfing
for the day.
My wrist or forearms are sore.
I just use this little gun to go over my muscles, provides nice relief.
You don't have to get an actual massage from a masseuse.
You can just easily just do this while you're watching TV, while you're hanging out.
If you have a bit of like downtime, if you sit behind a computer all day, your neck gets
sore.
Oh, that actually feels really good.
You just kind of leave yourself with a bit of recovery, but this is a really cool piece
of tech.
Maybe one of my favorites on the list and being kind of gatekeeping some of my recovery
stuff.
So that is there.
Last but not least, this is just stuff not really tech-related, but what I kind of use.
So like I'm a big Nike guy.
I have loved the brand.
I know that must age me because there's so many new ones, but I got these as a gift for
my wife.
These are the Vaporfly 3s.
These are technically carbon plated shoes.
So there is tech built into the sole of this.
This actually gives you like a three or 4% like energy return every time you bounce off.
Is it worth the price?
If I didn't get this as a gift, probably not.
I think they look dope.
It literally feels like you're walking on a cloud.
And I really liked them because I think I had this like sweaty foot disorder where my
feet get super sweaty.
As long as my running shoe has some form of perforation, I'm a big fan of that.
That's what I kind of look for in a running shoe.
So those are my runners.
And I'm not like a big supplement person, but I do like to just crush a protein bar
after a workout.
I get them from Costco.
These are tasty.
Robert Irvine's protein bar.
There's your plug.
And I do use electrolyte mixes, especially when I travel.
So these little pouches are nice.
I get them from Liquid IV.
Once again, a Costco purchase.
I stick a couple of these like in my gym bag.
I have them when I travel, like I said, just take, you know, one a day.
So it replenishes not only your electrolytes, but keeps you really well hydrated since you're
forcing yourself to drink more water.
Easy.
On the go.
And that is my workout regime.
So like I said, yeah, I typically leave my workout stuff for my own like personal time.
If you want to ask some questions, I'm happy to answer them in the comments.
But I've been doing literally the same like weekly workout regime for like 15, 16 years.
That and my like two to three times per week soccer, football, as I called it since I used
to live in Europe.
Once again, not a lot of you guys know that.
Played professionally for like PSV Eindhoven Academy team.
Once again, a lot of things that you might not know about what I've done in a past life.
Hope you enjoyed this episode and I'll catch the rest of you in one of my next ones.
Peace.
Energy drinks.
Two.
Let's go.
