Watch the final round highlights of the 2017 Omega European Masters.
Blue skies and sunshine for much of the final day here in the Swiss mountains at the Omega
European Masters. The weather befitting the spectacular setting. Alex Norum, the defending
champion, finished with a splendid 66 for 9 on the par with the help of this 38.
A very good defense of the title for the Swede. He finishes tied sixth. It was a good week too
for Tyrrell Hatton after a three-week break since the USPGA. This was his second into the 18th.
Beautifully played by Hatton and his 66 gave him a tie for third along with Ulzanotti of Paraguay.
Both Matt Fitzpatrick and Scott Hand had a chance to win in regulation time.
This was Fitzpatrick's putt for birdie on the 18th hole.
It was a 64 for 14 under par but Hand had the chance to win with this birdie.
It wasn't to be. Hand's 68 left him alongside Fitzpatrick at 14 under. And so for the second
year in a row Scott Hand of Australia was in a playoff for the European Masters title. Last
year it was Alex Norum, this year Matt Fitzpatrick. It went to the third playoff hole.
Hand had a very good chance with a five-foot putt to win on the second. When he missed
it went to the third and that's when it all went wrong for the Australian.
Bunkered off the tee, the second to the back of the green in the drop zone
and his third. Very fortunate not to find the water.
When he couldn't chip in it was down to Fitzpatrick to take the trophy.
The 23-year-old, the sixth youngest player to win four times on the European tour.
Matt Fitzpatrick, the Omega European Masters champion.
