4 Day Wilderness Adventure! Helicopter Rescue Firebox Stove Cooking Pack Goat & Dogs (Full Trip)
Looking Back on this high wilderness adventure I realize all the ways it changed me. I se now that this trip initiated a shift in my perception. Just prior to me writing this description I found what feels like a personal breakthrough that came as I contemplated the events of the monumental moments that transpired up in the mountains with trustworthy companions by my side. Much of the life changing stuff happened off camera or within my own head but the backdrop is well documented in each frame of this video.
Behind the scenes there was a storm of emotions. My body and mind were likely prepared for such an experience by the beautiful location in which we found ourselves, the state of tiredness brought on by so much hiking and maybe the high elevation had something to do with it too. Of course many events in my life also led to these realizations. For example when the helicopter was overhead with its overwhelming sound and felt the force of it's down draft... I was wholly taken back to stormy night when my mother was being rolled out of a hospital toward a waiting helicopter as I arrived the team of heroes pushing her gurney stopped as one of them approached me asking if I were her son I said yes and he did for me one of the most compassionate acts of kindness I have ever been graced with, he and his crew stepped back and gave me a moment with my mom. It was just a few seconds maybe only one but it meant so much! When you're faced with loosing your mom you become a little kid, you feel a purity of emotion that is usually only felt by children. There I was, on the mountain trying to hold it together as a rush of a child's pure love for his mother and the gratitude I felt for that special moment with her was washing over me with so much power it was hard to stay focused on everything going on around me.
There were other moments that were equally impactful that I won't go into but were very spiritual in nature and have caused a great deal of contemplation and self reflection.
Part of what I was finally able to see clearly this morning is that divine power is perfect love and that as we love outwardly, peace and freedom is built but when love is inward and used conditionally peace and freedom is destroyed and replace with control and even tyranny. I have a feeling that realizing more of my truth is much easier than living it but every little bit helps I suppose and I'll do my best.
Trying to keep up with Kendall then going into emergency mode didn't leave me with as much time to cook as usual, but I did enjoy some tasty Firebox Cooked Food!
