First Time Goat Packing with My Family. Trout Fish Tacos! Tarp Camping & Firebox Nano Stove Cooking

you all right good pointy all right let's keep going if Bill aims the corns at you just push his head to the side um that'll be hard come on CY good we [Music] have I'm backpacking with my family today they're back behind a little bit they're staying further behind because Bill's kind of giving them trouble are you our camera girl you are whether you know it or not I all the way East Lou [Music] [Music] [Music] Levi is a little bit nervous about having them walking behind us he's watching them very carefully stay here Le stay here you're okay you're all right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] little bit of a climb here I think we're almost there you see it Maggie [Music] this Lake looks super healthy gous I'm going to swim across the whole thing let see if I can get a shot that shows kind of the length of it yeah that's honestly insane how long it's long super pretty it's gorgeous man I wish I brought a knife so I could carve something I'll go there and look to the left and see if there's o here's some big ones to pretty good huh kind of tart y but like a good kind of tart with a sweetness you [Music] yeah there's kind of a drop off right here so I'm just going to flip it in and try to play right along that edge I have a tendency to reel this in a little too fast because I'm worried about getting snags okay do you want me to cut you some um cucumbers buddy oh no no not right now okay let's go ahead and mix up our potatoes just turn that right off let's see if I can get those mixed up oh shoot I'm yeah maybe just put it on top let's seal them up and then why don't you wrap these up in like a blanket I'm not going to put the diffuser plate on cuz I want that heat to be kind of focused in the middle honestly there's so many up from the blade all right let's see if this is getting Brown oh yeah beautiful oh yeah that's golden brown what we'll do is just turn the heat way down and then put the veggies in around it we get this side off of the heat so it doesn't push too far through that way oh yeah we've got a good stear going on here now there we go got some yellow squash are these from our garden yep really mhm wow we got yellow squash too yeah oh that's cool yeah everything's starting to Hur I knew the greens had started coming but y they were just the right sides to bring up here let's take a look at this and see what's going Ono looks like we had plenty of heat I'm just going to turn that steak over I don't know how much more heat it's getting underneath and it is on top buto man this looks like a nice steak it's kind of falling apart that's always a good sign the marbling look nice on it I might just cut it I just want to have some idea oh yeah we're still plenty pink oh yeah I think we're doing okay I can turn this heat down and so it we just warm our plate cuz I think this steak is pretty much done okay look that beauty I'll get the mashed potatoes still feels plenty hot nice these veggies look nice yeah it looks like they're going to have some nice flavor I'll put this in here to serve it with I guess [Applause] oh look at those Beauties look you can smell it it's so good dinner this is homemade dinner son going put some of this butter over here to on these veggies that's gorgeous gather around the table and eat right here dude you like a little bit of pepper son yeah he likes pepper pepp okay mac and cheese espcially on your Mac and Cheese he mac and cheese all right du get closer probably just this in here turned out perfect huh nice yeah yeah Beauty all right let's see if we can get some of this out of here oh yeah this meat is pretty nice and tender a really good bite you want to try the first bite let him try it sure do you like the veggies as well no he just wants s try that Maggie's like hello remember me yes I would like that I'm your dog Maggie I'm a good dog okay go bu no way Jose go on she's so bad Maggie go on Maggie come we'll give you some scraps later go kennel eat this and then cook that one by itself let him Che come here Sit Stay good girl juny up good girl okay a little bit more made good girl I didn't bring my camera this is my phone cuz I thought it was just too dark to film cuz it is pretty dark oh yeah he's beautiful oh yeah this is like beautiful trophy fish yeah we'll let him go that guy could have fed all three of us no tacos for you fella oh he just got off that guy's been living here for a while oh there he is there he is hug did he finally go it's hard to tell cuz he's the same color he looks like a shark did he go out into the lake oh yep there he goes he literally holy cow really excited about the organizational potential of these bags making me very happy look how golden brown that's getting son mm turning out perfect it's kind of a great way cuz you're not going to catch it on fire you know who would like that bill and Levi those goat yeah they have a sweet tooth they do yeah that's funny goats like sweet stuff the wood flame gas burner and the emberglow diffuser plate come okay B reveal you're going to pull off this shell yeah CU then you can the brown shell look at that that's amazing when you get this toasty all the marshmallow goo still stays on it wow look at that what a mess I can't even imagine eating that that'd be so sticky Kids Paradise but for me it's like a horror show the way you got I know especially with a beard right yeah I'd have to go take a shower I think that thing's awesome great marshmallow rooster the goats are enjoying their breakfast the water is like glass glass it's absolutely beautiful out here Maggie's a little antsy I think she wants to get in oh wow that was bite that's the first bite this morning that felt like a bite got snag nope I got a fish wow this thing is huge you see the way it's taking my oh my goodness wow this is going to be interesting that felt like a snag because it didn't move at all and now it's just taking my drag this is like the great white whale holy smokes we were hoping to find a fish for fish tacos but this is going to be something that I'm not going to want to keep wow this might be the biggest fish I've ever caught in my life I'm not even kidding I've never felt a fish that felt this solid wow it's just like a boat anchor it's like a it's not fighting at all it's just pulling it's it's come all the way over here to the shore almost to the shore but it's not thrashing it's just it's like all the way oh it just turned I don't know where it's going to go now whoa oh ah it just got off oh my gosh it just got off oh dang it oh I didn't even get to see it all right boys let's hike back to Camp I'm ready for my coffee but I'm a long ways away from camp now holy smokes oh [Applause] [Applause] there is one kind of fly that the fish will jump like way out of the water foro because these flies kind of buzz along the surface and the fish are trying to catch them as they go by so I have a an artificial fly for that and I saw the fish kind of doing that today it's the first time I've ever noticed it like right right there yeah it's like they're trying to get something as it's going by so I might try that coffee time you want to go swimming want to go play ball are either those back behind you okay go get girl good that underhand there you go that PR good shot Go Get It magy Go Get It it hope so at least oh good dog I cast out there I'm like almost all the way across the lake and I bump it like I don't know three times and then it just solid it felt totally like a snag it just stopped and then it held tight and then it starts pulling across the lake and I can see it's moving in this big Arc and it comes all the way over until it's right in line with me right on the shore and then the line pulls out when it was running it was taking the drag like like it was nothing just how big was it like never saw it sometimes they'll be aggressive and they'll attack it and it'll end up catching them somewhere on their body and when they do that they pull really strong good dog What a Beautiful Morning yeah it's pretty good okay I got another one needs butter buddy here you go buddy here's another one toasting them up what did they call this chess hillbilly bacon cut from the shoulder looks pretty good was was this at that local store no well it was at our local store feel biller bacon come I think's really good on swi we come out here in October when it's chilly even next mug be a lot hotter in a tent I run warm and I there you go good job I've got some cream that I'm going to squeeze into these eggs if I can I tried to seal it up with the lighter and it looks it actually worked look at that I I was able to seal it up with the lighter so I'm going to have to cut that use up the last of that that'll make these rich and fluffy those are thick pieces of bacon Little Nugget okay we're going to do something here can you open this carefully reach in and grab that butter by the package and just melt it in here here push it against there yeah here I can help you okay now open that up so I can drop this back in cuz it's going to be very melty all right I'm going to kind of try to just lay this egg in there instead of pouring it cuz whoops guess you have no choice you pretty much have to pour it but everywhere that pour goes I've noticed that's where it'll stick so so that's why I'm spreading it out so hopefully it won't stick okay we need our this is our top to our pan it's also where we're keeping everything so we'll just let that work now nice and slow I think it's time to put the cheese on oh yeah look at that do you like them the Lake's just full sun right I think so right now all right we'll let that work and cover up our food keep it warm a goat's Paradise right there all we needed to do was melt that cheese oh look at that oh that's that's pretty all right let's turn off the heat look at that put our Ham on there let's see tear off some of this one here we go you want to try this babe yep it looks awesome thank you take that McDonald's are you sure you don't want one buddy yeah take that McDonald's wow it's totally good I'm just not that big of an egg fan I know but someday you're going to learn to like eggs and then your life will how does the bottom crust taste good good good oh good this one's just your size buddy you sure too much egg too much egg too much egg look at that beauty I think we better zoom in on this one it's it's amazing I think it's one of the best breakfast sandwich I've had really not like that not even just for camping huh yeah but ever yep I I like that ham stuff cheese is really great oo yeah the texture is good there's no toughness like sometimes the eggs will have a skin uhhuh it's nice the ham doesn't you know when sometimes you eat bacon and it pulls the whole piece out right that ham bites really well through it yeah here's an open face for you I guess creamy eggs are good yeah see good with some spinach in it little cream in your eggs it's always a good idea we could bring spinach up and mix them with eggs next time they good I've just recently discovered that cream is basically liquid butter so that's why I've started bringing it and using it so much every used to tease me about how much butter I used now you you're diversifying [Music] mhm people are going to tease you about how much cream you use mhm is so hot we're going to go swiming I have no idea how you were able to do that Maggie that's amazing jun's making it she's finding her way slowly surely can you believe that and they don't have arms they have four legs that's a big Advantage all right buddy you ready to get in let's do this it is so cold it'll take a second is it really it's pretty cold crazy oh that's not refreshing holy smokes I was getting hot too yeah yeah I all right I'm going to swim back over so I can stop the camera oh [Applause] yeah do you remember playing her there she goes I just fell and now I'm deep I am so and I cannot stop woo I'll show you guys the storm clouds pretty dark I'm going to start heading towards Camp all he wants is a banana chip look at him like he's like give me another banana chip it's all he's been thinking about since I gave him the last one give me that banana chip I got nothing I got nothing Maggie no so all I have to do is keep some banana chips in my pocket and I'll be able to get them to do anything I want Hello goats couple Sage hands just scared the soul right out of my body can you see them running I don't know why they're not flying that was a good cast I got right where I wanted it yeah that was a perfect cast maybe we should try this other lure me and my buddy Bill huh Bill nightm give me a kiss what a nice goat hanging out with a goat huh I finally caught a fish but I got down there and realized I didn't have my camera I didn't even have my phone wooo look at those like ruby red spots in it yeah it's really pretty huh it's so big like it has to be at least a foot and a half long fish tacos tonight woohoo yeah yeah let's go back up to camp and we'll skin this and cook it up and make some fish tacos tonight yeah you want to carry them get him up there and dry him off with a paper towel yeah can you carry him or is he too heavy for you onehanded fool just look at that meat yeah it's so red it's like a a salmon this one of the most beautiful fish I've caught in a long time this lake is really deep and really cold the color of orange so even though it's late summer this fish is still just beautiful pink orange color look at that son what do you think beautiful pretty cool huh we didn't bring any other food this is our only option was fish tacos so kind of had to keep him there we [Music] go let's go ahead and get this going I am keeping the emberglow diffuser plate on because I want this to cook real slow we're going to cook it in a whole lot of butter pretty small flame in there just going to try to cook this trout low and slow how low can you go oh yeah we're almost there and I had to cut this fish into two pieces just to get it all to [Music] fit swimming in butter let's get our tongs set up I'm going to turn this trout over see if I can do this it' be good in the tacos yeah sure you want to put some in your taco m you can save it just like this I want to eat eat it right now though it's really good they're mixed together but adobo kind of works with these kind of it's like a prepackaged cold SLA mayonnaise lime this adobo and garlic salt seasoning just for a little crunch on the tacos all right awesome tastes good so you use the packets so they easier to backpack just here yeah just just grabbed a couple of the gas station nice there we go yeah could use just a little bit more time but I think this will work okay does seem like enough butter you can put a little bit more in quite a bit of butter in here all right wow look at just how beautiful oh look at that beautiful stuff yeah like rips off so perfectly and it's going to be so good boys nice work you said you want this just by itself smell the goodness yeah I'll eat the avocado okay there's all our trout meat look at that beautiful stuff lots of lime look at all that oo this was a juicy lime I know that's nice the lime is good yeah CU I can't I don't know how hey we have our adobo and garlic salt mixture so we'll go ahead and sprinkle some of that in and then that butter that we started with along with all this stuff is just going to make a really nice kind of sauce and just get this flavor really Blended in you kind of break these pieces of fish and into chunks yeah this is probably one of the best ways to make fish tacos drown them in butter okay let's cover this up and then we'll get our tortillas warming up sometimes you do it just on a burner you know right okay buddy open it up your hand cold it's a little Breezy yeah I mean they're not exactly cold but they could do some warm it up this weather's just holding out for us hopefully long enough to get us fed okay buddy open up all right we're going to move the fish back on here so it stays nice and hot and we're going to start building our tacos like about that much yeah maybe that can go on this one okay little oh AO there you go that looks lovely should we give that to luky he just wants plain trout so why don't we do oh just plain trout yeah give these a taste ready for another one good stuff Luke loves fresh trout he always has says something cross to them or get up in their face they like you don't scare me I've held a flashlight for Dad I don't get it we had a little bit of leftover trout without the seasoning that we're giv to give the dogs good girl okay good girl okay juny come here okay up oh good girl shoveling it down like we made it time to go home and restock and head back out on another one this is my favorite time of year I love fall camping no mosquitoes and I like the cool weather I like the cold nights it's
