Welcome back to Enovene Cake and Cookies. Today we are making soft flavorful egg buns,
a perfect snack for evening tea or school tiffin. Start with 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon yeast,
1 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon sugar, and half teaspoon salt. Mix well.
Add a pinch of sugar in the dough for softer texture.
Mix well with 110 ml warm water to make a soft dough. Rub with oil and keep aside for 40 minutes.
In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil. Add 1 cup onion, 1 green chili. Saute for 30 seconds.
Now add 1 cup tomato, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder,
1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon garam masala, and 2 tablespoons water.
Cook. Then add 1 cup boiled green peas. Cook for 2 minutes and finish with fresh coriander leaves.
Take some dough. Always let the dough rest in a warm place for a perfect rise.
Roll the dough. Cut into round shape. Fill with the cooked green peas mixture.
Place half of a boiled egg. Fold as shown. Eggs are one of the most affordable sources
of complete protein. Green peas not only add flavor but are also rich in plant protein.
And seal the edges with a fork. Don't overfill. It helps buns stay sealed.
Grease a 9-inch mold. Place the buns. Did you know buns date back to ancient Rome,
where they were served during festivals? Brush with egg yolks. Brush egg yolk before
baking to get a golden crust. And sprinkle sesame seeds. Preheat a pan with wire stand
for 5-7 minutes on medium-low heat. Then cook for 18-20 minutes.
Baking buns on the stove top is an old trick. No oven needed.
Finally, brush butter on top for extra shine.
These buns are packed with protein from eggs and peas, fiber from vegetables,
and energy from flour. A complete snack for kids and adults.
Our egg buns are ready. Golden soft and so delicious. Try them at home and share your
experience. What's your favorite bun filling, egg, chicken, or veggie? Let me know in the
