Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) is a molecule naturally made by the body that is widely supplemented for its anti-aging and other reported benefits. On the anti-aging front, NMN is said to boost physical performance, raise energy levels; and protect heart and brain health.

What do recent human studies suggest about NMN’s health benefits? Why was NMN banned from being sold as a dietary supplement during the pandemic?

Psychiatrist and integrative medicine specialist, Dr. Jingduan Yang MD has treated a number of patients with NMN. Today he joins Vital Signs with Brendon Fallon to outline the results he observed in such areas as memory, concentration, and energy level.

It’s speculated that “because of the reduction of (coenzyme) NAD+ we have aging, or function decreases,” says Dr. Yang.

NMN is a precursor to NAD+ and “therefore by supplementing NMN, that will increase the blood level of NAD+,” he adds.

What changes are seen in kidney function and other metrics of age when NMN is taken over a 60 day period? What dosage of NMN brings the optimal health benefit?

We probe these and other aspects of NMN’s reported benefits on Vital Signs with Brendon Fallon.
