Building a Cabin by a Remote Lake #4 - Raft Restoration
Fourteen months ago, while paddling my canoe with my dogs, I discovered this hidden corner of the lake and dreamed of building my own off-grid cabin here. The only access is through tough off-road trails, where I’ve often gotten stuck and relied on my winch to escape. On the far side of the lake, there’s a small road that lets me bring in reclaimed wood, an old door, and other discarded materials to give them new life.
In this third episode, I continue the construction of my handcrafted lakeside cabin by working on the side wall, building a raft, and starting the fireplace. We transport logs across the lake, raise the wall structure, and carefully set the stones for the fireplace—while enjoying the serene atmosphere of the wilderness with my loyal dogs by my side.
Join me in the wilderness as I turn this fairytale vision into a real rustic cabin by the lake.
