We've been waiting for several months to move in to our new kitchen/dining room. It took a while until we decided to get our local guys to do the tiles for the floor. We are so excited we can now relocate all our kitchen wares into the new kitchen. We also purchased a gas/induction stoves and range hood and Ross have to install them.

It's cleaning day. We're here now in our new kitchen, dining, and lunch area.
And because we're almost done with the work here but there's still a few things to be done next
week. But we need to do the cleaning now because it was so dusty. Elma is doing the window.
And she'll be doing the window and the door and the screens as well.
moving into our kitchen. We've got a metal cupboard here. This tent is temporary until
we can get something built in here. We've got two bamboo shelves here. Elma's helping us
put paper under it because the trouble is they don't treat the bamboo and the borers get in
and there's sawdust just everywhere. I had to clean it all off. We can fit both of them in
the pantry. So for now we're just going to put a curtain over the door here and
put the two shelves and that'll do our food and all our plates.
I think that was the set I got from my mum.
And of course we've got a few of the electrical things that haven't been out yet. Have you ever
used this? The blender? I've been using it. Oh okay, yes you've been using this but now it'll
have a place you can live there on the shelf. We've got a couple of other things here. The
sandwich maker, the blend, small blender, the juicer, the old sandwich maker. So finally we'll
be able to give them all a home. So we're just organising the pantry. We've pulled
most of the cans and everything else that we bought from Australia out of the boxes.
Boxes, empties are under there. There's five, six, seven, eight. We've got all our
crockery, stuff I inherited from my mum, stuff I had. And we just bought an extra one of these
metal shelves yesterday because they're a nice size, they're nice and solid. I think they were
four six wasn't it? Yes. Four thousand six hundred pesos at Citi. Now what we decided, we had the
cupboard there but given we built a new wall in here for the fridge to house the fridge on the
outside, that means we've got less room there. And this is 600 deep. These things are 450 deep
so that'll work a lot better having the two 450s here where that is. And this one which is 600 deep
by 1300 or so long, that will go over this side because this will eventually come out. They'll
probably all come out. We want to do shelves in here but we'll see how these go. They're a good
solid shelf there but we'll see. We probably want to make some sort of a bench here but as we use
it we'll work out if Cathy uses it because I won't be using it. I'll be using the workshop that now is
almost clear of all the kitchen stuff. We'll get the fridge out today that'll come into here once
that area's cleaned up. So I've got a little job here to finish. The induction cooktop goes in this
side and it fits nicely but in this side we've got the new gas cooktop to go and it's sitting
up proud a little bit by about five millimeters maybe a bit more. So I just noticed that where
we've used the grinder the diamond wheel to get in we haven't got into the corners.
So I'm trying to use the multitool here although this blade I've only only can seem to find the one
or the two blades. This one I was able to get most of the what was holding up in this section
and these teeth are not bad but this one the teeth are almost gone. So I need new blades but I forgot
to get them. I didn't realize I needed them so I better get some more but I'll see if I can get this.
I'm just going to try chipping it a little bit with a chisel here
to break out this those little corner bits.
This is fun. I tried to use the multitool here. My blades are getting blunt
so yeah that one's nearly worn out at that end. So I need some new ones. So I can't really use that.
I really don't want to use the diamond saw because it just throws up so much dust. I mean this does
a fair bit too but nowhere near as bad. So I'm trying this with a chisel and I've managed to get it down.
It's only within within about one or two millimeters now. I'm just trying to get the last
little bit so I thought I'll resort to what the guys do here which is this. I think they use a
concrete now. You know I probably should have drilled that but that's right it's holding it.
All right this one's really careful. I was like I don't weaken this because
that's one thing we don't want to happen. It's got a uh I think it's a 12 millimeter
rebar in. It's pretty it's very solid.
Last little bit. Well they look pretty good. Now they're the same brand. Yeah Hamden.
They're both Hamden which is the Wilcon brand I think. They look good together but this one
just sits up just a little bit. I guess it's different design between gas and
induction. What else have we done? I got the power points done the other day. Now what I've got to do
is uh this will be my first time drilling through tile. So I bought myself a eight millimeter
diamond drill. I learned on YouTube that I need to keep that cool. So I just poured water on my
test tile out here and I went through no worries at all. Didn't take very long. So I'm going to
have a go now at this one. Then I've got to try and get the uh you know hold the screw in
in behind this so it doesn't crack this when I screw it up and tighten it up.
You need to keep this cool that's why I'm putting it in here.
Finally we've uh Darlan's got a stove. Well not quite. Still got to put in the gas line.
Got to buy the gas line. Put gas cylinder out here but apart from that this one's ready to go.
We can turn this one on. I think it needs a pan on there to actually get it going
and the extraction fan for the moment is coming out here but eventually I'll put it up and out
to the side. So job well done. That's worked well just hanging this up on here.
The next thing apart from the gas line is I've got to connect the water. So I've done the
waste. Just got to do the water thing now and we've got a working kitchen.
Apart from the mess of course. Darlan's still packing this up. It's a work in progress
but she's getting there with that as well.
