Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie in F minor, Op. 49, is a single-movement piano piece composed in 1841 when the composer was 31 years old. From his letters, we know that Chopin used the term 'fantasy' to convey a sense of freedom from rules and to express a Romantic sentiment. Chopin continued the tradition of a self-contained movement in his Fantaisie. Considered one of his greatest works, this Fantaisie is one of Chopin's longest pieces.
