A few days ago, a certain medium raised allegations against Mr. Li Hongzhi,
the founder of Falun Gong, in relation to his finances.
A reporter from Sound of Hope interviewed Mr. Li.
And in the meantime, the question arose with us.
Mr. Li was a famous Qigong master in China in recent decades and later founded Falun Dafa.
How did he actually master his everyday life all these years?
We openly shared our curiosity with Mr. Li
It all started in 1992 at a Qigong conference in Changchun, in the province of Jilin, China.
There, Mr. Li Hongzhi expressed his views on these topics for the first time.
After a few words, everyone was totally shocked.
Wow, who are you? How do you know all this?
Some experienced Qigong practitioners then advised him to give a Qigong lecture.
They even helped to organize an event,
and so the first Qigong lecture took place in the No. 5 secondary school in Changchun.
At that time, such Qigong lectures were also called
Qigong talks on healing.
Simply put, they were supposed to heal diseases.
On this day, many patients came, some were in pain for hours, others had infusions.
Experienced Qigong practitioners encouraged them to come.
Mr. Li told us,
So I went there and helped them.
And in just a few seconds, they all stood up, even those who were paralyzed and could not get up before.
Mr. Li simply said,
You can go now.
And the patients began to walk.
Then he said,
You can run now.
And indeed, these people began to run.
Everyone was totally amazed.
What was that?
As soon as he had started the Qigong lecture at school No. 5, he could not stop.
Mr. Li was invited from various places to teach his Qigong.
This was the beginning of Falun Gong.
People began to call him Master Li.
At that time, someone suggested to him to be certified at the Chinese National Qigong Association.
After that, it would be easier to go everywhere.
So Mr. Li Hongzhi made his way to the Qigong Association in Beijing.
When people saw him there, they were amazed.
Wow, we have never seen anyone who is so young.
But they said,
Well, let's do the certification.
This so-called certification was a lecture to demonstrate the healing effect of Qigong.
They specifically invited people with chronic diseases and complaints.
And it turned out,
when Mr. Li released energy, the state of many people on site improved
or they were even healed.
The whole venue was full of excitement.
It was particularly remarkable that Master Li, who was only in his early 40s,
explained Qigong principles that experienced practitioners had long wanted to know,
but had never found out.
After this lecture, the Qigong Association immediately got together with Mr. Li Hongzhi
and asked him,
Don't go, just stay in Beijing.
Since you now support us, you can keep courses all over the country.
At that time, the Qigong Association was recognized by the government
and joined the National Sports Committee.
The director of the State Sports Commission, Wu Xiaozhu,
had General Zhang Jiankun hand over the responsibility.
And the association received strong support from Chen Xuesheng.
From then on, Mr. Li Hongzhi began to teach Falun Gong.
The conditions were really tough at the time.
Because Mr. Li wanted to spread Falun Gong as far as possible
and therefore not take too much money.
A 9-day course cost only a little over 20 RMB per student.
The money was used for travel, food and printing materials.
So much was left after the courses.
They traveled by train to give Qigong courses outside the city.
Since they could not afford sleeper tickets,
they mostly took seats.
They had woven bags with flyers like
Introduction to Qigong
and lots of instant noodles.
They ate instant noodles every day,
sometimes a bowl of noodles from a stand on the street.
In two years, they took 54 face-to-face courses.
At some point, they were fed up with instant noodles by the teaching staff.
Mr. Li said to them,
To follow me means to endure hardships.
Later, China Falun Gong was transcribed from audio recordings of the lectures.
But there was no money to publish the book.
A predestined person lent 5,000 RMB
and so the book was printed.
The revenue from the book sales first went back to the distributor.
Then the conditions slowly improved.
The main book of Falun Gong, Chuan Falun, was published.
And because there were students with a good economic background,
they mostly helped Mr. Li to publish his books
and to hold lectures in different places.
The travel and working conditions improved accordingly.
In the four years from 1992 to 1996,
due to the magical healing effects,
the low fees and the true principles,
truthfulness, generosity,
the master Li Hongzhi taught,
Falun Gong found great appeal and spread quickly in China.
The number of practitioners grew exponentially.
There were countless.
On both sides of the Chang'an Avenue in Beijing
stood in the morning long lines of practicing people.
Beijing is the seat of the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
And such a phenomenon would of course distrust in a totalitarian regime
at the highest authorities.
Mr. Li Hongzhi said they wanted to take him under their watch.
But it was not easy.
Because first, they found out that he had no money.
Second, he had nothing to do with women.
And third, he did not even own property.
Master Li had become world famous.
But compared to other practitioners with many followers,
who made a lot of money,
he still lived in his brother's house,
near the Military Museum in Beijing.
So it was not easy to find a pretext to attack him.
But in the end, the authorities became clear.
One day in 1996,
a director of the Ministry of Commerce invited Mr. Li for dinner.
Mr. Li thought it was a normal meal,
where people wanted to eat with him to cure diseases.
But after sitting down, the person said directly,
their influence in China has become too great.
They have to leave the country.
That was the reason why Mr. Li left China.
To protect his students in China,
he decided to leave.
Thanks to his reputation and many awards,
he easily got a US visa for special skills.
Soon after, he received permission from the United States.
In 1998, Mr. Li left with his wife and daughter, China,
towards the USA.
They first arrived in California,
but had no accommodation.
So they traveled further to Atlanta to find something.
A two-story house cost $120,000,
but he could not afford it.
The house was located directly on a street with heavy traffic noise.
They left Atlanta and went to New York.
There, the three-headed family stayed in a single room in an apartment.
This building was later falsely called by the Communist Party of China
as Li Hongzhi's building.
Later, they moved to a house in Flushing,
which was bought by a student.
Because it was pretty loud there,
they moved on to a vacant house in New Jersey,
which was also bought by a student
and left to his master to live.
The house was about 280 square meters,
but in America it was just a normal house.
Special agents of the Communist Party of China even came by,
took pictures and claimed
it was another being of Li Hongzhi.
The persecution became worse and worse.
The situation became more and more dangerous.
Li Hongzhi decided to move out of this house with his family
and move into a temporary accommodation of another student.
After he had taken care of his family,
Li drove across the USA
so that the Communist Party of China could not find him.
This nomadic lifestyle lasted almost a year.
In 2000, a student bought land on a mountain
two hours from Manhattan.
This is now Dragon Springs.
Except for a small bungalow,
it was only wasteland at the time.
Li lived in the bungalow when he had time
and began to build there with students.
In the early days, no one had money.
All participating students paid from their own pockets,
bought the tools themselves
and a lot was done by hand.
They gradually built up this place.
It took several years of volunteer work and dedication
until a few years after the founding of Shen Yun,
Many students sent tea leaves to Master Li out of respect.
So Dragon Springs opened a tea house
and everyone got these tea leaves served,
together with snacks.
Someone suggested taking money for it.
But Mr. Li Hongzhi refused.
Why?
Because many who come to drink tea
are volunteer employees in Dragon Springs.
They work so hard,
how can you take money from them?
He said.
Later, the meals the students sent from outside
should stay in the tea house
on his instructions
or be shared with everyone.
We interviewed an assistant
who followed Mr. Li Hongzhi for over 20 years
and asked him to speak of his impression of the master.
He said,
The life of the master is simple.
He gets up early,
goes to bed late
and takes care of everything himself,
even washing the laundry.
Often he washes his clothes by hand in the morning
and then lets them dry in the air.
No matter if in Dragon Springs
or on the road with the Shen Yun Tour groups,
it's always the same.
The master has an excellent taste in art,
but his clothing is bad.
He wears the same shirt or jeans for a long time.
If you look back on history,
no matter if in the East or West,
which teacher of a spiritual discipline
did not receive any sacrifices from his students?
Sacrifices are not about the amount of material wealth,
but about the dedication
and the true faith of the heart.
But Mr. Li Hongzhi never asked his students for this.
He only wants a heart
that is dedicated to the cultivation of goods and goods.
Mr. Li could have led a much more comfortable
and luxurious life,
but he has high ambitions.
Why does he teach this?
Why does he instruct his students so laboriously
in cultivation?
Why the voluntary work
in the projects of the Dafu students?
Every of his true students would understand this.
And today there are even many
who do not cultivate,
also understand it.
Falun Dafa is completely different
than other Qigong practices.
It is neither for healing nor for making money.
Practitioners would not wear a robe
during the day and return home at night.
It is a true Buddha-Fa cultivation path,
which teaches people
to be truthful and conscientious
and to return to their original self.
The persecution of Falun Gong
took more than a quarter of a century.
But truthfulness,
compassion and perseverance
remain firmly anchored,
illuminate the hearts of the students
and strengthen their sincere thoughts.
The endurance of Falun Gong practitioners
corresponds to their rightful faith
in truthfulness, compassion and perseverance,
as well as their innate qualities.
It also comes from Master Li's teaching
through words and examples.
When Shakyamuni led his students to cultivation,
a student once asked him,
Can we cultivate ourselves in the secular world
like worldly people?
The master replied,
This must wait until the king
who turns the wheel comes.
Shakyamuni held on for a moment
and said,
The king who turns the wheel
has great abilities.
At that time,
he should not miss this unique opportunity.
In Journey to the West it is said,
to keep a human body,
to be born in the Middle Land
and to find a just way
is difficult.
Whoever achieves all three
is the happiest.
That is, to be born in China
makes you Chinese.
To experience the spread of a just way
is the greatest happiness.
I wish everyone who sees this video
all the best.
I hope you put everything aside
without prejudices
and read Chuan Falun completely.
The result could certainly surprise you.
Do not allow life to confuse you,
leave you in the dark
or seem hopeless.
Because this is not a coincidence.
All opportunities are a grace of the gods.
Appreciate it.
Use the opportunity.
Understand the truth
and have a bright future.
That's it for today.
I am here every week and tell
