Mama Elephant Welcomes Missing Baby Calf Back With Cuddles After She Goes Missing

n Tamil Nadu’s Anamalai Tiger Reserve, a young elephant calf became separated from her herd, facing the jungle’s many dangers alone. Rangers, driven by compassion, launched a rescue mission, using a drone to locate the herd over 2.5 miles away. To ensure her acceptance, they bathed the calf and covered her in mud to mask human scent. Upon release, the calf’s mother immediately recognized and embraced her. Viewers’ concerns about the mother lying down were eased when experts explained she was simply in REM sleep.
