Hello friends.
If you want to grow guava tree by air layering like this at home, then you can follow this
technique.
Today, I'm sharing an easy and proven method.
Step 1.
First, you need select the perfect branch.
Select a healthy and vigorous guava branch from a good variety.
Make sure it's free from pests or diseases.
Using a sharp clean knife to make two circular cuts about one inch apart around the selected
Carefully remove the bark between these cuts to expose the soft white layer underneath,
called the cambium.
This layer is essential.
It stops the flow of nutrients, triggering the branch to grow roots at this point.
Ensure you've removed all the bark in the ring.
Any leftover bark could hinder the process.
Gently remove the green layer of tissue beneath the bark.
Step 2.
The secret ingredient, tomatoes.
Here's a clever trick.
Take a ripe tomato and cut it in half.
Scoop out the seeds and pulp, leaving the juicy outer shell.
Place this tomato half over the exposed area on the branch, then stick it with a toothpick.
Why use a tomato?
Tomatoes are rich in moisture and nutrients, keeping the branch hydrated.
This ensures the area remains damp, which is essential for root development.
Step 3.
Take a 250-ml plastic cup.
Cut one side of the plastic cup.
Set it on the branch and secure it with electrical tape.
Step 4.
Now, take the cocoa peat and wet the cocoa peat with water.
Fill the cup completely with moist cocoa peat.
Cocoa peat is a lightweight, organic medium with excellent water retention.
If you don't have cocoa peat, use garden soil, but make sure it's damp and crumbly,
not dry or compacted.
Step 5.
Timing is everything.
For the best results, attempt air layering during the spring or summer months.
Warm, humid conditions are perfect for promoting root growth.
If you try this in cooler months, like fall or winter, the process will be much slower
because root formation depends on warmth and moisture.
Step 6.
Wait for results.
After 45 days, I'm opened.
And look, friends, how beautiful roots have grown.
Once the roots are well developed, carefully separate the branch from the mother plant.
Use a sharp pair of pruning shears to cut the branch just below the rooted section.
Now, I will plant this tree in a pot.
If you want, you can plant directly into the ground.
Then water the new plant thoroughly.
Step 7.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
In about six months, your guava tree will grow strong and healthy, ready to bear delicious fruits.
Imagine picking fresh guavas from a tree you propagated yourself.
It's an amazing feeling.
Hello, friends.
Today, I will share with you how to propagate litchi plant.
The method I will show is very simple.
In this video, step by step, I will guide you through the interesting process of propagating
litchi plant by air layering using an effective material, through which you can propagate
litchi plants very easily.
First, you need to select a healthy, vigorous litchi branch that's about 1-2 inch in diameter.
And it should be about 1-2 years old litchi branch.
Using a sharp knife, make a ring-shaped cut around the branch, about 1-2 inches long.
Remove the bark completely, exposing the cambium layer below.
Gently remove the green layer of tissue beneath the bark with a knife, like I show in the video.
Now, take a piece of raw turmeric.
Apply raw turmeric to the exposed cambium layer.
Turmeric has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which will protect the branch
from fungal attack.
Turmeric helps keep the branch hydrated, which is crucial for root development.
Turmeric is a natural rooting hormone that can encourage root growth.
If you don't have raw turmeric, you can use turmeric powder.
If turmeric powder is not available, you can use aloe vera gel.
Then take a 250 ml plastic glass, and cut one side of the plastic glass, set it on the branch.
And stick it with electrical tape.
Now take cocoa peat, and soak the cocoa peat well with water.
Then fill the glass completely with wet cocoa peat.
Cocoa peat has a high water-holding capacity.
If you don't have cocoa peat, you can use garden soil.
If you use soil, you should water it at least once or twice a week.
On the other hand, cocoa peat can retain water for a long time, so there is no need to water later.
Cocoa peat provides adequate aeration.
Cocoa peat is lightweight and easy to work with, making it convenient for wrapping around the branch.
Cocoa peat contains essential nutrients that can support the growth and development of new roots.
Overall, cocoa peat is an excellent substrate for air layering.
If you don't have cocoa peat, you can use garden soil or compost.
Now take black polythene, cover the glass with a polythene or aluminum foil.
Black polythene can block light, which can be beneficial for root development.
Roots typically grow in darkness.
This will help maintain humidity and promote root formation.
And tie it with zip tie.
The best time to propagate.
Lychee plant by air layering is during the spring or summer.
This is because the weather is warm and humid, which encourages root growth.
If you are propagating lychee plant during the fall or winter months, you may need to wait long time.
After 50 days.
I'm opened.
Look friends, how beautiful roots have grown.
You must be careful when removing the plastic glass, so that the roots do not break.
Because the new roots are very soft.
Once the roots are well developed, carefully separate the branch from the mother plant.
I have many more videos about fruit trees that you can watch from the channel playlist.
By following these steps, you can successfully propagate.
Now I will plant this tree in a pot.
Prepare a pot filled with well-draining soil mix.
If you want, you can plant directly into the ground.
Make sure the roots are completely covered with soil when planting.
Then water the new plant thoroughly.
Place the potted plant in a bright location with indirect sunlight.
Avoid direct sunlight, as it can stress the young plant.
It may take several weeks or months for the new plant to establish itself.
With proper care, your new lychee plant will grow and eventually produce its own delicious lychee.
After a few days, the new lychee plant will be ready to be planted.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment.
Thank you for your support.
After a week or so, the new lychee plant will be ready to be planted.
Sound of birds chirping.
Sound of running water.
Music.
