Quantock just a few minutes’ drive from my home—yes, I feel lucky sometimes! This video captures one of the spring mornings when I started my hike and almost walked 15 km, accompanied by my drone. Some ground shots and time-lapses were captured using the Samsung S21 Ultra Pro video mode.

This is the first part of my journey (morning to afternoon). The evening part is yet to come—and it promises to be even more exciting!

Quantock Hills AONB

The Quantock Hills are an area of wilderness and tranquillity. Panoramic views guide you through coast, heath, and combe. Along the way, you’ll encounter rocky Jurassic coastline, exposed heathland summits, deep wooded combes, undulating farmland, and charming villages—all within this protected landscape.

Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1956, the Quantock Hills are recognized for their distinctive character, natural beauty, and cultural heritage, which are deemed important to preserve in the nation’s interest. This ancient and treasured area, with its rich cultural heritage and village communities, is valued locally as a homeland, workplace, and a destination for education, recreation, and even spiritual reflection.
