Searching for the Lost Mine of the Elkhorns

Deep in the heart of the Elkhorn Mountains of Oregon we search for a long-forgotten mining boomtown and hope to find there's something left of it. What might we discover? Old houses, log cabins, falling-down structures? There's certain to be intense natural beauty in the form of aspens and larch trees changing color.
Let's set off on a drive and then hike from there and see what we can find!
