By far, the most secret and least accountable operation of federal government is not as most
would suspect the CIA or DIA or some other super secret intelligence agency. No, these operations
are under control of Congress. But there is, however, one federal agency that tops these
agencies by a mile. Can you guess which operation I'm talking about? If you guessed the Federal
Reserve, you guessed correctly. The Federal Reserve System is accountable to no one. It has
no budget, is subject to no audit, and no congressional committee knows of or can truly
supervise its operations. In fact, as the agency that controls virtually completely controls the
monetary system here in the United States as the central bank of the global reserve currency,
I would argue that the Federal Reserve is one of the most powerful institutions in the world. And
yet the Federal Reserve is accountable to nobody. And this strange situation, if acknowledged at
all, is invariably trumpeted as a virtue. Now, does that not sound like timely writing? Murray
Rothbard, the case against the Fed. Now, I'll admit it. This past week was the first time I
read this book. I'm no stranger to Rothbard, but as someone who comes from outside of the
financial institutions, I am constantly trying to teach myself so we can all learn and grow together
the same way I do on this channel. But what struck me about this read is that like so many authors
that came before 30, 60, 80 years ago, nothing has changed. The writing in this book is just
as pertinent then as it is today, if not more so. All that's really changed is that the world
somehow has gotten bigger through globalization and accessibility. Yet the immediacy of media
has made us so focused on what's right in front of us minute by minute that no one's really
zooming out and looking at the big picture. So today we're going to do something a little
different. We're not going to talk about rate cuts, if they're happening, if they're not.
We're not going to talk about Jerome Powell and his future as the Fed chair. No, what we are going
to talk about is a super secret, powerful institution, the Federal Reserve and the power
that it wields over all of our lives. Because if there's one thing I cannot stand that makes
my blood boil, honestly, I go from zero to 60, it's hypocrisy. And right now I would argue we
are inundated with hypocrisy by our central banks, by those in power, the elites. I mean,
it's been that way forever. It never seemingly ends, but I'm skipping ahead. Let's break down
what exactly is going on today. Big picture. Now, when I talk about money on this channel,
you already know I'm talking about real true money, right? Something with a store of value.
By definition, money is supposed to be a store of value. That's why I believe in gold and silver.
But for today's video, when we're talking about money in today's society, this is what most people
think of, right? It says right here, this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private.
Why is that the case? Because the Federal Reserve says so right there on the top,
you can't really see, I know it's going to go blurry, but it says Federal Reserve
note. So again, this is what our Federal Reserve Agency is telling us is money. Now,
most people have been tricked into this. They buy it, they believe it. But Rothbard here poses
a question. He says, if the chronic inflation undergone by Americans and in almost every other
country is caused by the continuing creation of new money, and if in each country it's governmental
central bank in the United States, the Federal Reserve is the sole monopoly source and creator
of all money, who then is responsible for inflation? And stay with me on this, because
I'm going to explain where we're going and why it's relevant to today. And I'm not just talking
about inflation. We're going to get deeper. But who then, except the very institution that is
solely empowered to create money, that is the Fed itself. Now, this might seem like a very
elementary question and answer, right? Most of us understand that the Fed creates more dollars and
that's where inflation comes from. But the reason why I start with this question is because it then
begs a follow-up question. Well, if the Federal Reserve is solely responsible for inflation
through the creation of more money, well, then why is it that all we hear is that the Federal
Reserve is single-handedly the last barricade, the last stand and hurrah against inflation taking
over us, like a tidal wave, right? It is just the Fed standing there fighting the loan fight,
protecting us against inflation. That is what I hear on the news every single day.
Yet again, I go back to this thought of hypocrisy, because how is it possible that the Federal
Reserve, the people who supposedly are protecting us, are also the ones who are solely responsible
for the inflation that we all have felt? Now, Rothbard goes on to say it is here where we get
a glimmer of truth, that the drum fire of propaganda that the Fed is manning the ramparts
against the menace of inflation brought about by others is nothing less than a deceptive shell game.
And before we go any further, I want to be crystal clear. This is not me endorsing the president
firing Jerome Powell, or this is not me defending him either. This is about
the agency itself and its complete autonomy, its lack of oversight and the power that it holds
with all the hypocrisy that it shoves down our throats and my anger around this institution and
how many people are unaware of what's really going on within, right? Jerome Powell can sit
there all day long and say that he's single-handedly stopping inflation, right? Everyone can cheer on
saying that the Federal Reserve is protecting us. But as Rothbard says, it's like a thief running
down the street screaming, stop thief, thief over there and pointing behind him as he gets away
with the heist. It is a mess by their own making. That is the bottom line that too many people don't
realize. If the public knew what was going on, if it was able to rip up with the curtain covering
the inscrutable Wizard of Oz, it would soon discover that the Fed, far from being the
indispensable solution to the problem itself, is itself the heart and cause of the problem.
Oh my gosh. That gives me chills right there because that is the truth. That is the truth.
And then he closes out this chapter with, what we need is not a totally independent,
all-powerful Fed. What we need is no Fed at all. Written 30 years ago and still gives me chills.
Now, I know there's going to be people out there who go, okay, wait a second, you had me,
but then you lost me talking about no Fed. How would that even work? And it's a valid question
because unless you're 120 plus years old, all of us have lived with the Federal Reserve in some
capacity in our lifetime. So it's tough to imagine a system without it. But the reality is,
it's actually quite simple. You take away this group of unelected officials who have total
control over your money, right? And instead of having these insiders control interest rates,
you just let the free market decide, like everything else, right? No artificial boom
and bust, no propping up. And for anyone out there who's going to say, well, wait a second,
what about crisis? What are we going to do in times of crisis? Were you paying attention to
what we were just reading? Because here's the funny part, right? Crisis, they're caused by the
Fed, right? They're not just there to step in and save us from them. They're the ones creating it in
the first place. Now, of course, we would have to have a return to some kind of sound money,
right? Again, that's where we have our physical gold and silver coming into place. Because as long
as the inclination to print and print and print is there, which is always going to be there for
humankind, anyone in power is always going to be tempted to do it. You're going to have to have
something that you can anchor the system to that is controlled, because there is no control with
this, right? I mean, they have all the control, but ultimately, they can do whatever they want.
And that means that the majority is always going to lose at the hands of the few. Because it's
funny, Rothbard actually talks about a return to gold and how a lot of people have a hard time
wrapping their heads around it. They go, well, what about the money supply? What would we do
about the money supply? As if it's something that we need to control, that it wouldn't just
naturally work out, that gold would be mined as gold was mined, silver would be mined as silver
was mined, and the money supply would adjust accordingly. Now, there are going to be those
who say, well, then prices would fall. And I actually really like this. He says, we are so
conditioned by permanent price inflation that the idea of prices falling every year is difficult
to grasp. And yet, falling prices does not mean depression, not if productivity is going up,
right? So there are ways to do this. It's just, again, outside of the scope of what most of us
have known in our lifetime. What we have today is a group of counterfeiters. Now, this is a term that
I brought up before from another one of Rothbard's books, What Has Government Done to Our Money?
But he goes into more detail in this book talking about it, saying the very point of counterfeiting
is to constitute a process, a process of transmitting new money from one pocket to the
other. Counterfeiting is always a process in which the counterfeiter gets the new money first,
which makes sense when you think about it, right? If you were to go out today and you were able to
print some hundred dollar bills and you went out and spent them, you're going to be the one who
gets the most benefit out of that. Everyone else, maybe that shop owner who gets the hundred dollar
bills will go and spend it and use it. But as that money enters the system and as each unit
of currency is worth less and less, well, then those at the bottom are the farthest away from
the counterfeiters. They are going to be the ones who suffer the most because the value of each of
their dollars will be worth less. That is the same way it works in today's system. We're talking about
billions being pumped into the system, right, of new dollars. And what happens as all this
new debt hits the system and the creation of money happens? Well, it's going to be those at the top,
the powerful, the elite. Those are going to be the people, the counterfeiters, who are going to
benefit first and foremost. But by the time everything kind of trickles into the system,
well, what are the people at the bottom? What are the people with fixed incomes going to be left
with? They're not going to get any benefit from the counterfeiting. No, in fact, they're going to
hurt from it. When we talk about a wealth transfer, this is what we're talking about, right? Wealth
doesn't disappear. It merely changes hands, meaning that these crooks right here and everyone
up at the top who's allowing this process to go on and on and on, they are the ones benefiting.
But the majority are not. They are all losing their purchasing power. 2.7 percent. Do not be
fooled that this is stable or normal or right. It does not have to be this way. We've been sold
a narrative. And now we're being told that the Fed, they're the only ones protecting us
from this inflation when they're the ones who started in the first place. This is legal
thievery. Right. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said in the absence of a gold
standard, there is no protection of your savings from the confiscation through inflation.
Right. What was he saying? He was saying that gold, physical gold would protect your wealth. But
this this is not going to protect your wealth. That is the shabby secret. That's why they're
anti gold, because they didn't want people protecting their wealth. Right. They want to
continue the wealth transfer. They want to continue to inflate and take away. They require it. They
need it. It's the only way to keep the machine continuing to run for their benefit. But the
reality is we don't have to play their game. That's why I'm so passionate about what I do
is because I know that there is a way to protect yourself. And again, for me,
it's physical gold and silver for a lot of other people out there who have woken up to what's
really going on. Physical gold and silver. If you are ready to protect your wealth with physical
gold and silver, protect your wealth with this against the declining value of this against them.
