Route 66 - Road Trip Into A Bygone Era - Includes A Song I Wrote
Join me on a journey heading east on old Route 66 starting in California and progressing through Arizona. We'll visit the town and hear about the man who inspired the movie Cars (from his daughter), see fading towns barely clinging to life, see a town that's been infused with new life, and discover things that make a road trip great. There's abandoned structures and a town brought back to life from the brink of death when the nearby interstate was constructed, bypassing once thriving towns. Learn some of the history of Route 66 and the people who once traveled it, like the farmers of the Midwest who had all their hopes and dreams blow away in the dust bowl so traveled west to California on 66.
