And all of a sudden, we're in Inverness.
Woo!
Where do we go from?
Where do we go from here?
And because we learned our lesson yesterday,
we're back at the ticket window in Inverness
to make sure that our train out tomorrow is
as it was supposed to be.
Yes, sir.
I believe everything is all squared away.
We're staying at B&B Hotels, which was not cheap,
but it was the cheapest we could find.
And the room is adorable.
And the staff is really nice.
She's really cute.
First impression of Inverness?
Cute little town.
Adorable.
Second impression?
Freezing cold.
Yeah, they say it's foggy all the time.
It was sunny until about 10 miles out,
and then it was like we were going into a Harry Potter movie.
Woo!
This will be fun.
Seems like no matter where you go in the world,
there is money in debt.
Now you see why we came to Inverness.
Well, I mean, you know, Inverness is a beautiful place,
but we came up here because Charlie's up here now.
So we got our local tour guide.
Welcome to the Highlands, guys.
Well, thank you.
Thank you.
All we've said is we want a hug and to see a bunch of cows.
Yep.
We got the hug.
Now we're looking for food, of course.
Well, I think we can safely say that this place is cool
in several different ways.
This is the Nest Walk.
Nest Islands are just up that way,
but we're not going to Loch Ness today.
That's on Charlie's expert plan for us for tomorrow.
Today we're walking and eating and drinking coffee.
Castle.
Is that Inverness Castle?
Inverness Castle.
There's Inverness Castle.
And there is a Scottish madman out fly fishing.
Oh, cold.
I had to buy this.
Oh, bless you.
It is warm.
Except for on the train, this gets cold and my legs.
We have a Scotch Bunny siding.
Hello, Scotch Bunny.
Oh, up he goes.
He's running.
That's where we're going because it's one of the few places
you can get without having reservations like a month in advance.
Can't beat the view.
Of course, I can never beat the view.
Hey you, I'm talking about you.
We're in Scotland.
I have to try haggis.
Do you have haggis?
I got the haggis burger.
Get your haggis right here.
Which is supposedly amazing.
Oh, it's really hot.
That is also delicious.
Get in my belly!
That is a different flavor than I think I've ever had.
Describe the flavor there, mister.
It tastes kind of like a really good garden burger
stacked on top of a beef burger.
If you like some chopped onions or something like that.
Wow, that's delicious.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Oh, you're right.
This tastes like a garden burger with lots of onions.
Yeah, it has a really good flavor.
That's really good.
We also got Coyote OG Chili Super Dipper Fries
that have like onions and cheese and jalapenos and bacon
and wonderfulness on them.
Apparently Katie thought she deserved a brownie.
I agreed.
We'll see if it's any good.
I'm a brownie snob.
It's bitter because it's got dark chocolate on it.
I'm a little bit more in the favor of the milk chocolate,
but this is fantastic.
I'm done.
Here come the meat sweats.
It is a less than sunny day in Inverness,
but that's to be expected.
Waiting for Charlie to come pick us up.
Our stalker location, Domino's, is right across the street there.
They follow us all around the world.
That may or may not be because we have ordered Domino's in so many places.
I hate to admit, we get emails from like I think four different countries now
at Domino's.
We should probably stop that.
Morning, Charlie.
Morning.
Our professional tour guide.
Oh my gosh.
Oh, those ladies are crazy.
Scotland weather.
The sun's starting to come out.
Somewhere down there is Loch Ness.
Towards Loch Ness.
It's got a sheep.
It's got sheep.
Just us cruising through the highlands.
Well, Loch Ness is currently hiding behind a thick veil of fog.
This is just another loch lake up here.
Absolutely stunning.
But I guess there's no getting away from civilization, is there?
Holy balls.
We are at the Sudi, however you say that.
S-U-I-D-H-E, something like the Sudi viewpoint.
Wow.
Of the Scottish Highlands.
Loch Ness is right down there.
We drove right by it, but it is totally socked in in fog today.
So, that's it.
Nessie's down there just mocking us.
Let's see if we can get to Loch Ness.
That is Loch Ness, right there.
Right there.
Right, right there.
That is Loch Ness.
Finally made it down to the shores of Loch Ness Lake.
We actually get to see the lake.
It is very socked in with mist and fog, which is apparently the norm.
I don't know what the log is telling me, I guess.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
Anyways, cool to see some place that you always hear them talk about.
What are you doing besides freezing?
Looking at the pretty flowers.
Two bees sleeping under that flower.
Loch Ness is the largest body of water in the entire UK.
We can honestly say it is so big that we cannot see the other side.
You see what I did there?
It's Nessie.
And a car.
And Nessie.
Our attempts at seeing Highland Cues.
That was big.
At the battlefield, we're thwarted.
So we are off to another spot where we are almost guaranteed to see Highland Cues.
Which are the fuzzy Highland cows.
Which makes a happy cake.
It's just cows in the Highlands, but they're not Highland cows.
We're searching at the mini castle for Highland Cues.
Another thing I love about Scotland.
This place has the Highland cows that everybody is looking for.
And they're like, no, yeah, they're right up there in the field.
Go see them.
They weren't like, give us 20 bucks to look at our cows.
I love it here.
How excited are you?
Scale of one to ten.
Eight.
Oh, that's a lot.
Wait, you only said you were like a six for our wedding.
The Highland cows are everything we looked up to do.
They are beautiful.
Thanks, Charlie.
You're welcome.
Hi, Highland cow.
Look at that.
And it's small, and it's light, and you can travel with it.
And we have a train to catch.
The first class seats on the Seven Rail, Seven Interrail are much nicer than the ScotRail California.
Katie actually gets to face forward.
We're rolling the net.
Coffee and biscuits.
It's Connie.
How are you doing?
Lovely.
Leave the thumbs up and subscribe.
Now that was good.
That was good.
