[Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] hello everybody i am pretty excited to be making this video right now because i'm currently at a place that i haven't been to in a very long time almost one year in fact um so i'm currently at the airport in tonga but this time i am at the domestic terminal so it's about it's almost one year since i arrived here in tonga for my weekend trip and that was the last time that i have actually been to the airport uh that was obviously the international airport and now i come to the domestic airport which you can see behind me this is the uh domestic terminal and there's quite a lot of people actually there's just one flight that got in and i guess that's the same thing that i will be taking out um it's taken me a long time to get um a plane out of here one because it's pretty expensive um and two because there was actually no airline for a long time um when i first arrived um and after the pandemic first started to hit the the national airline it just went burst so they finally got a new airline sorted out it's called lulu thai airlines and i was pretty excited to be able to go on a trip with them and i'm just pretty generally excited to be going on holiday or on a trip at all uh so tonga is still a country without coronavirus um actually there's only five countries left so i do feel very privileged uh to be able to to travel and i feel very privileged to be in this in this country and in this situation right now i'm going to stop talking your air off because i'm very excited to go get checked in and get ready to board my first flight [Music] the government cut funding to real tonga the previous domestic airline in may 2020 and a few months later lulu tai took over they have been operating since late 2020 and offer pretty regular flights to various island groups throughout tonga [Music] my journey takes me from nuku alofa on the tongitavu island group to vavao one of tonga's most northern ireland groups it will take about one hour on the plane much better than the 24 hour ferry despite not yet having a single coronavirus case there are still precautions all throughout the airport but my squaring is not necessary there's still some time for me to grab a coffee at the airport and enjoy the view of the plane's landing and taking off before it's finally boarding time my first time doing this walk in a very long time that's the plane right behind me that i'm taking up cuba i'm so excited to be boarding a plane can't leave it's not uh out of here [Music] though [Music] me [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] so only about 50 minutes later unfortunately the flight's already over um but i've arrived in mobile so i'm very excited [Music] my malo fales is located just 20 minutes away from the town centre of baval the name containing both the words thank you and water is very apt as they offer a traditional living experience right on the water [Music] they have two farleys overlooking the water the sunset valley and the sunrise valley that are both ensuite and equipped to the kitchen and one just a few steps away from the water on site there's also areas to chill out as well as kayaks to rent and gear for snorkeling which you can do right at your doorstep from the wharf you can see the vowel's highest point mount tallow rising 200 meters above sea level i've just arrived at the accommodation where i will be staying in and i'll give you a little bit of a tour because it is incredibly beautiful so this is the front door here and then behind me we have a big bathroom which is pretty sweet um and then this is the best thing so um got a nice big double bed here and then another bed here and then a little lounge area here wait for it it's about to get really good and then a full kind of kitchen and everything here with like a microwave i mean i don't even have a fridge or a microwave at home so this is already really exciting for me and then the best thing about it all is if we come here it's about to get very sunny we have a nice little deck tables and chairs and a deck chair and actually we're standing on the water right now which you can't really see but you can see a little bit more if i do this so we are right on top of the water and it's so clean here crystal clear that when i'm speaking you might be able to see some fishes um there's one actually um you might be able to see some fish go past just beneath me and actually um this whole filet this whole house is built on top of the water here i'll come down a couple of steps so you can see completely in the water here and then this view behind me is just absolutely stunning not bad it is very very hot here um about 32 degrees i think um so i'm gonna waste no more time um getting excited about the water and instead i'm about to get my bikini on and jump straight in [Music] hey [Music] [Music] foreign um [Music] just come in and had a bit of a dry off from the absolutely incredible snorkeling um that i've just shown you a very small part of i mean the the whole ocean in front of me is just full of stuff like that but right now i am gonna get a beverage
