Leverkusen limp to win in overload! | Großaspach vs. Leverkusen | Highlights | DFB-Pokal first round

Will it be a night for fans of fourth-tier Großaspach to remember against DFB-Pokal heavyweights? Pascal Reinhardt urging his players to enjoy the occasion but to give it everything against Patrick Schick, a new goalkeeper for Leverkusen, Marc Flecken here on the southwest. First competitive game in charge in the rain for Erik ten Haag. The rain began to come down heavily in the minutes leading up to kick-off here. Edmond Tapsoba. Can he have that one away properly? Maier for Mert Tajdelen. And he might fancy his chances. Oh, a test for Marc Flecken. And Tajdelen does have a flair for the dramatic. Could have been a spectacular goal for Großaspach. The fourth-tier side had it gone in. Well, the rain has become hail. And Michael Bacher, the referee, with that, tells the players to leave the pitch. And really wild weather now. Look at the trees shaking behind that goal. And plenty of work for the ground staff. Although some of them enjoying their moments of fame. It was an interruption of almost 45 minutes. Here's Nathan Teller for Leverkusen. Garcia. Amine Adli. Great ball for Patrick Schick to open the scoring in the 32nd minute. Schick's eighth Deja Vu goal. And it goes down as the first goal of the Erik ten Haag era. And this was superbly constructed. Adli, that had plenty of power on it. And Schick still had a lot to do. Leverkusen, they hope, on their way to victory. Pascal Reinhardt's team. Running promotion from the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg last season. Here's a corner from Tajdelen. Back from Maier. Tajdelen. And kept alive by Neurai. And oh, there's Patrick Schick back on the line. And prevented a goal, would you believe? Goodness. Great defending by Schick. And the goal by Patrick Schick represents the difference at the break. It's been a very spirited effort by Großaspach. Perhaps a bit too much in the way of spirit there from Volkan Çelikdas. And he's been booked already. This could be highly problematic. Yes. Second yellow card. And Çelikdas is off. Vastly experienced midfielder. And I don't think he can really quibble. With Maza on the receding end. Tamsoba's pass. And there's Ponkoe. One of the newcomers for Leverkusen. Exciting Dutch player. And here's Grimaldo now. And Ponkoe. And it's finished by Artur. And that's his very first Bayern Leverkusen goal. Delight etched on his face. The Brazilian has done it. And that might settle the issue against the ten men. Moving towards the closing stages. Ponkoe has made an impact already off the bench. And Artur, happy to be the finisher. And here's Taschdelen. Axel Tapp. Another of the new recruits for Leverkusen. Too close there. That was not a good challenge from Taschdelen. And he's off. Straight red. Didn't hesitate there. Michael Bacher. And they're down to nine men now. Kosas Pach. Challenge from the back. With Tapp sent flying. Nine against eleven. And it's Garcia. Time pass for Kovan. He's only been on the pitch for seven minutes. This is official. Leverkusen debut. Kostian Kovan. And to the delight of the Leverkusen fans, behind that goal, they've padded their lead. 3-0. Tapsuba. Here's Kovan. And brought down. The foul by Lukasz Stoppel. That was the errant challenge. That is a penalty. Grimaldo. In his 100th Leverkusen appearance. He's not been feeling great this week. He's been under the weather. Should be feeling a lot better now. And there it is. The final margin may be a bit flattering for Erik Ten Hag's side. But Leverkusen are through to the second round.
