Hi there. Welcome to my channel where I take you on tours of tiny and unique homes.
I've been filming home tours for this channel for over 10 years and recently I had a chance to tour
a tiny house hotel with a variety of tiny homes of all shapes and sizes and some of the designs
even surprised me and that's pretty difficult to do. I'm already feeling pretty good about this
tiny home. It's already checking all the boxes. Honestly this tiny house is kind of blowing me
away. Oh my gosh, look at this. So today I'm going to take you on a tour of a few unique
tiny homes that are unlike any other and you're going to meet the family that's behind this tiny
house hotel and they have done a lot for the tiny house movement. But before we jump right in,
if you like videos like this make sure that you subscribe and hit that notification bell so that
you know every single time we publish a new tour. Hi I'm Todd and I'm Morgan and we're from
Seattle Tiny Homes. Here in Buckley we have a full farm. It's called the Roots Collective Farm.
We have eight tiny house hotel units and then we also build with Seattle Tiny Homes. We do
manufacturing here. Here's the factory where we build Seattle Tiny Home units. We build about 24
a year on average. Sometimes we build a few more. All right so this is a 34 foot rainier model that
we are producing right now and you can kind of see how it's freshly framed. We just had it spray
foamed a couple days ago. Electrical is done and we're about to start doing some rough-in plumbing.
It takes about about six weeks before we get a trailer actually on site and then we start
producing to this level. Really the framing the spray foam and electrical all that was actually
done in about six days from that point and we aim for about 90 day production timeline.
Just depends on how busy we are and as you head back this way you'll see a park model that we
finished a few months ago. This one's waiting to be delivered. I think they're going to want it
sometime in September. It basically has two bedrooms, a loft sleeping area and a downstairs
main bedroom. It's got laundry, everything you need to live in. It's actually a pretty big micro
mansion is what I call it. The customers that usually want a park model are either in they want
to be permanent space they want to actually strip the title and actually site it permanently or they
want to be out in the farm country where nobody cares really. It's the same thing as an RV in a
way but you just have that extra 10 feet width space on it. So they have several tiny homes
available for rent here at the tiny house hotel. We're going to take a look at this one behind me.
It's one of the smaller tiny homes they have here but I also hear it has a really unique layout.
Let's go check it out. All right here we are inside and I can definitely tell that this is
an interesting layout. Already I see something very creative right here. It looks like a murphy bed.
Let's fold it out. This isn't the way you're supposed to sleep on the bed I don't think.
So that murphy bed is a really great use of space. I can see now
why this layout is so unique. They had to elevate the kitchen to fit the murphy bed underneath
and then over here I see another piece of collapsible furniture.
The classic collapsible dining table. So easy to make and just the perfect first DIY project for
any tiny houser. So great space saver and look folding chairs. So this space acts as a guest
bedroom and a dining room and a living room. One thing I love about tiny houses is when you
first come in it's sort of like a search and find what are the best space savers and in this house
in particular I've only been in here for about two minutes and I've already found two collapsible
furniture pieces so I'm already feeling pretty good about this tiny home. It's already checking
all the boxes. Let's head on up into the kitchen. Okay here we are in the kitchen. Small little
kitchenette with a fridge freezer. We have a copper sink. I don't know what it is about tiny
homes but they always have unique sinks. It's just one of those things. We have a two burner cooktop
that you can put down on the counter here and cook on. A microwave and lots of open shelving.
Love that. And in here I think we're probably going to find the bathroom. Let's go see.
As suspected this is the bathroom. We got a flush toilet,
a huge bathroom sink, and oh my gosh look at this a step down tub.
And I think um Sasquatch could probably take a shower in here. This is so tall. It's got to be
12 feet tall. So we have one more area to check out in this tiny house and it happens to be on
the third level. That's right I said third level. This might be the only three-story tiny house that
I've ever been in. So somehow they fit three different stories in a tiny home but it's the
same height as a regular tiny home. Here we are in the last room of this tiny house, the bedroom.
And surprisingly I can sit up in bed. One thing I really love about this tiny house is that it
has separate rooms. You don't see that a lot. A lot of people are really embracing the open floor plan
idea with tiny homes to make the space look bigger but what you get with a tiny house layout that has
separated rooms is privacy. All right so this teeny tiny home packs a lot of punch but I want
to see some of the other tiny homes including some of the larger ones. Let's go. And now for
something completely different let's go see the inside of this tiny home which is one of the
largest tiny homes they have here at the tiny house hotel. I'm really intrigued by those two lofts
so I wonder how many people can actually sleep in this one. Let's go see. All right so immediately
this one feels very spacious. It's super big as far as tiny house standards go. We got two lofts
it looks like and a downstairs bedroom. Right here is the galley kitchen with a five burner
stove top, big sink, lots of countertop space and storage, full-size refrigerator. So this is one of
those tiny homes that I could see a family of four living in because there's a lot of areas for
people to have privacy and there's also a large great room which is good for family gatherings.
Let's check out the other spaces. I think behind me is probably the bathroom.
So this giant bathroom as far as tiny house standards goes has a flushing toilet, a sink,
a full-size shower and a washer dryer combo. All right let's go upstairs to the first loft.
All right guys I'm not gonna lie it's pretty tight up here. This is a good bedroom maybe for
kids but I'm feeling a little claustrophobic myself and I'm a tiny house person so
nice to have the extra bedroom though but I would be sleeping downstairs.
All right here we are on the other side of this tiny house it has a day bed
slash couch area so you can even sleep another person here guest bed and one thing that white
interior tiny houses do is they make the space feel way bigger than it actually is. Back here
is the master bedroom so queen-size bed perfect sleeping space for mom and dad and up here I took
little peek is a storage loft too tiny for someone to sleep in but always great in a tiny home to
have extra storage. This one here is giving me some log cabin vibes. Oh I like the the look of
this one on the inside they definitely have some nice finish features like I love those trusses
they have going on the Tiffany style lamp in the middle. I see a little heart shape cut out behind
me here is an L-shaped kitchen this is a really good use of space when you have a bay window I
see this in a lot of tiny homes it's really nice to be able to cook and prepare your food and clean
your dishes while looking out. So we have a deep sink we have a mini fridge freezer we have a
toaster oven and a microwave oven and a coffee machine. Lots of storage since there's such high
ceilings they can do these giant uppers which is great. We have a little bar top area here for one
for maybe eating breakfast or working on your laptop and up here I see a little surprise
loft it looks like there might actually be enough space up there for someone to sleep
I'm gonna find out. We have a little ladder here
oh it's cute so this adorable loft I thought at first was just for kids but I have plenty
of headroom up here it's got a gorgeous triangular shaped window in the back it's a twin size bed
complete with stuffies and for safety purposes they have this barrier so you can lock yourself
into place with no fear of falling out because that's quite a fall. Over here we have the living
room nice big couch TV air conditioning great for movie nights. So the back half of this tiny
house is really kind of interesting I'd say the last six feet or so of the first floor is dedicated
to a bathroom which means it's a giant bathroom for a tiny house and they've done something really
unique they've separated the toilet area from the shower area so this house is really gonna be great
for people living with their kids in a tiny home or even with their spouse in a tiny home where
you both have to get ready at the same time and finally we have a big closet again as far as tiny
house standards go so this is a great tiny house for people who are wanting to share a small space
but still you know have enough space to get ready at the same time.
So last space we need to check out is the master loft. Here we are in the master loft and it's
enormous I mean we have five windows that all open I have a ton of headroom and there is plenty of
space on the side of the bed also for baskets or a nightstand. I love seeing the arched ceiling
from here and the little heart cut out it's so cute it actually goes all the way through to the
other side and if I was in here with my kid I would love that I'd be able to call across to them
check on them when I needed to in the middle of the night. Honestly this tiny house has kind of
blown me away I really like it. It was about 2012 when we were basically homeless at the time
struggling with housing and that's when I basically was like you know if I put a shed and
threw it on some wheels this could be in this gray area where you don't have to get permits and
we went to legislature started the tiny house association went heavily into trying to lobby
for a bill to get passed which it did in 2018 it became law. It started off where all the builds
that we were doing were Airbnb builds. I was sad about it actually that I was building all these
units and it wasn't really solving the housing crisis. Since 2020 it's exploded to where it's
somebody's main home it's more of solving that person's housing need and we're really trying to
change the culture locally and make the richer people think more simply and then they can give
back more and you know teaching people that if you're you're poor and in poverty you don't need
to think that way if you get in community with others. Thanks for watching this week's episode
