I frankly have never ever been in a tiny home before I actually bought one.
The loft thing was not something I was very fond of, the idea of it.
I could not be more wrong in my life.
Like if I could have my tiny home entirely on the loft, I would.
I pay less than I was paying for an apartment.
It is absolutely mind-blowing to me how affordable it is to own your home if it's tiny.
My stairs are also makeshift.
I fell only once and no one else fell ever.
So they work and they costed me only $80.
Right over here, this is the thing that I love the most.
I get to live my dream every day.
Like how many people get to say I get to live my dream every day?
The only thing that is absolutely driving me nuts.
Hi, I'm Eva and this is my tiny home, Raven's Heaven.
I frankly have never ever been in a tiny home before I actually bought one.
And I very much love the idea of living in something that is unique, that is not typical,
that is something you can make your own and it's just like a wow factor.
I've always been this kind of person that I like to be in small spaces.
And now I have it.
I live in one big room.
Everything is here but it's mine and it keeps me safe.
I'm located in Western Washington in a beautiful evergreen forest.
And I absolutely love that space.
There's nothing I would have changed about my parking spot.
I just open the door and I hear the birds singing in the morning.
I just sit on my stairs and have my coffee in the sunshine.
It's just such a blessing.
So I am very much in awe of where I live.
So I purchased my home from Tiny Ida Homes and I chose them for multiple reasons.
I was very terrified of legality of the situation.
Tiny Ida Homes are RV certified.
So that was something that gave me peace of mind that at least I can park anywhere RV can park.
And I am built to RV code.
I actually chose Tiny Ida Homes too because they're affordable.
There was no absolutely way I can't afford paying more than $100,000 for a tiny home.
And $100,000 was like a massive stretch for me.
The entire cost of the house was $85,000.
And the transport from Idaho here with an insured company costed me an additional $2,800.
I had no issues obtaining financing for that home as an RV as well.
And I got a really great deal with a really low interest rate.
I paid not even $1,600 for my home and my rent here.
So I paid less than I was paying for an apartment in Tacoma
when I was renting before I got that home.
It is absolutely mind-blowing to me how affordable it is to own your home if it's tiny.
I ended up in a wonderful home that is a home of my dreams.
And I can absolutely imagine a better life.
The house is 28 feet long by 8.5 feet wide and 13.5 feet tall.
So it's road legal.
Let's pop into our tiny little yard.
When I just first moved in, we only have that little area up to here.
So hence the turf so they could go somewhere potty and it was more comfortable for their paws.
With time, when I get a little bit more money, I was able to purchase
additional fence and just add it up all together to make a little bit of a ram area for them.
I don't have a skirting per se.
We don't get that cold here.
I do have these cedar planks here just because my dogs are escape artists.
So I did have to block off every possible route from them to get out.
So it's kind of like a lot of things that you see are makeshift.
So it's something that I needed at the time and I just had it done.
But it works and it works great.
My stairs are also makeshift.
You know, I was doing a lot of research.
I'm like, I'm gonna build it.
I'm gonna do it myself.
I had no skills.
So I was like Googling up really quickly, like cheap ideas for RV stairs.
And I looked up the someone said, hey, this is the cheapest way you can get your stairs done.
So I use the cedar and two by fours just to build up a little bit of stairs.
And I put some like decking tile on top of it.
So it's safer.
I fell only once and no one else fell ever.
So they work and they costed me only $80.
So my utilities are over there.
I am plugged into a power and a water.
We have a gray water recycling system.
So I had to switch from a flushing toilet to a separate composting toilet.
Utilities are included in my rent in here.
And this is probably the cheapest rent I have ever seen in Washington because I only pay $620.
And we also have internet included in that price as well for all of us here.
So it's absolutely amazing.
Front of the house is housing my propane and my mini split, the outdoor part.
I really enjoy that is being set here in the bottom, which is easy for clean and maintenance.
And this is where I store my propane.
So it has a really nice covering here.
It's easy to pull it up.
It has a designated shelf right over there.
It's easy to exchange it.
And I do have two bottles.
So when one run out, I'm going to just jump out and exchange it for another one.
And it happened to be more than once that I was taking a shower.
You know, these are the little things I never thought I'm going to be doing.
But they also don't bother me at all.
So I think it's just a beauty and the uniqueness of living in a tiny home
and like the little things that come with it.
All right, so let's go inside, everybody.
Hi, so this is my one room.
I think tiny home is all considered being a one room.
But that section of my one room is a living room.
I think it's really cozy.
I always try to make it seasonal with my blankets.
So we're kind of spring and summer vibe on a couch.
With a tiny home, you don't get that much space to decorate.
So I always try to use the things that I can exchange based on the season
to kind of change the vibe on the space.
And it protects my couch from my dirty dogs, which is super amazing.
All of these have different kind of storage under.
Here is my tiny shoe storage.
So it has both of these are swiveling out.
And my very famous junk drawer.
Everyone needs one.
This is my little work from home area.
This is my little foldable desk.
So I do work a little bit from home, a little bit from office.
And that does a job.
It does it wonderfully.
I have absolutely no complaints.
And there's such a variety of things I can use it for.
I can eat on it.
I can host people because obviously I have no other table.
So that is a very multifunctional and multipurpose tool.
Right over here, this is the thing that I love the most
because not many builders has two staircases in their house.
Usually a secondary loft might have a ladder.
And it was very important for me to have staircases because of my dogs.
And they're like 50 pound dogs.
There was absolutely no way I'm going to carry them upstairs on the ladder
when I'm going to sleep or something.
The top loft right over there is a dog slash storage loft.
I keep my suitcases.
There's a little bit of like storage shelves and the dog kennels are out there,
which is also wonderful because I do have that mini split right over here on the wall.
And if I set up an AC, it blows directly at them.
So they never get overheated on that loft,
which is absolutely amazing and super important to me
because the lofts do get warmer during the summer very quickly.
All of these are my clothes.
And just because I am here alone, I got to spread everything out.
I'm sure there is more ways I can maximize that storage.
But that full cabinet is just my pants, right?
And I have them organized in different piles to know which pile is what,
which makes it easier for me.
This particular one is just my tops.
And the big one right here is just most of like dresses
or jackets or long sweater or skirt.
So everything that has to hang and being long is right over here.
And all of these cubbies that we have here are the depth of the stairs.
So there are two feet deep.
Every one of them has something behind.
It looks pretty clean and neat,
which doesn't create that much of a clutter, which is important on a tiny home.
Because when you like have a lot of things laying around in a small space,
it just feels even smaller.
Let's go check out the kitchen.
So this is my tiny kitchen, which is actually not so tiny.
There are some changes I'm going to make in my kitchen.
I noticed that I barely ever use microwave for that matter.
The most function that I use it for is actually the air section when I'm cooking.
So I decided I'm going to give that microwave to my neighbor who really wanted one.
And I'm going to get just a hood range in that place
because I'm also a very tall person.
And it's really hard to cook when I see mostly myself in that reflection.
So I think it will open up the space a little bit
and makes it easier for utilizing the kitchen.
I do have a three burner stove top, which is also propane operated.
And I did got one of this cutting boards that I can just
easily rest on top of it.
And it kind of expands my counter space.
Three burner is more than enough.
My meals are easy and simple.
It's a 30 minute rule for me.
If I have to cook for more than 30 minutes, I probably won't.
So I keep it easy.
I use my handy dandy air fryer a lot.
This is my best friend.
And I probably use it the most from all of my appliances.
I also have a propane oven, which is great.
And I actually use it pretty often.
The only thing that is absolutely driving me nuts,
all of that heat goes straight up to the smoke detector up there.
And there is not a single time I can use the oven without that going off
and screaming out loud.
So you can very often see me standing here and just like trying to wave it off,
which is pretty funny.
I do have my apron sink.
I would love it to be a little bit deeper.
I hate doing dishes.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who hates doing dishes.
So sometimes these dishes are sitting here.
And the more I produce, the more it's piling up.
And then it's very hard to get it washed without like spraying water all over.
The only thing that kind of motivates me to doing dishes
that this sink is absolutely central to the entire house.
This is like the very first thing that you see when you come in through that doors.
What I know I would change after two years right now,
if I had the ability to add like a pullout dishwasher drawer thing,
I would love it.
I didn't think about it.
I always thought, why would I waste the space for a dishwasher
when I can have a storage?
And now I'm thinking, oh my God,
what would I do to have a dishwasher?
But I live with it.
I do my own dishes.
You know, these are like first world problems, but it absolutely works.
I very much preferred having upper cabinets
because with two dogs, there's a lot of dust and hair going everywhere.
So I prefer having everything enclosed and protected from that.
And on top of here, these are actually my Halloween and fall decorations.
And the other one has my Christmas decorations.
So they just live there in this pretty baskets.
They kind of blend in well with the entire vibe of the house.
And I have a full apartment size fridge right here, which is absolutely awesome.
It's probably too big for me.
I kind of moved it a little bit to the side.
I know that they're supposed to be like a venting area,
but just because that particular area is exposed
and I still have about inch and a half space here,
I was able to store like my mops and cleaning stuff in there
that otherwise would have to be somewhere around in the area.
And it is raised a little bit.
And I actually do enjoy it a lot because it stores my doggy's food bowls.
Moving to the storage right over here.
It's mostly utility slash pantry storage.
I actually have a little pantry project right over here.
This corner was plain white.
I decided to paint it and hang the shelf.
It turned out being pretty great.
I keep all of my dry goods in here.
So I have them stored in jars.
All right, guys.
And this is my tiny bathroom, which is actually not that tiny.
One of the things that were important to me was having a bathtub.
I do love taking baths, even though it is difficult with two dogs
because they constantly come in here and try to check if I'm alive.
But it works.
It's really nice.
I do have a full size.
It's a five foot bathtub.
I had to change my shower head because it started leaking,
but I got a green one, obviously.
And I love it so much more because I can remove it.
And it's easier for me to bathe my dogs in here, too,
in a bathtub with that shower head.
These tiles are not porcelain tiles.
They are flexible tiles specifically made for RVs.
During movement, they are less likely to crack or fall in any capacity.
And one thing that I actually do really love is having that light here.
No one ever talks about that there is never a light over the shower.
I have never had shaved my legs more evenly and accurately than I do with that light.
So this is a massive, massive thing that just the detail that makes everything better.
But like I mentioned before, I do have a separate composting toilet.
It works great.
Number ones are being recycled with the gray water.
And number twos are going to compost.
It is vented so it doesn't smell ever for that matter.
That was one of my biggest concerns,
that if I'm going to have a composting toilet, everything will stink.
But the truth is, it does never really stink at all.
I love that vanity.
It kind of looks the same.
It goes with the flow from the kitchen.
So we have the same color of a countertop.
I do have a vessel sink and I love it.
Again, because I'm a tall person, I don't have to bend so low
to make sure that I'm not going to spray water all over the place.
And this entire cabinet right here fits so much space.
I have decorations here.
It has like extra toilet paper.
And that cabinet under here mostly stores my laundry stuff.
So I have like a little laundry, trusty laundry basket,
and which I think is like an IKEA office garbage basket.
But it works great because as soon as it's full,
I know it's time to do laundry
because it's just the right size for the Splendid.
And I do have it as a washer dryer combo.
It is vented, which I do love
because the drying actually works.
I did hear like multiple opinions about those.
I have no complaints.
It takes a long time.
So that's one of the things that I had to used to
that like if I want to do a, you know, clean and dry load,
it probably takes about like two and a three and a half hours to complete it.
But it does its job and I love it so much more than going to laundromat.
This is my sleeping loft.
The loft thing was not something I was very fond of, the idea of it.
And I could not be more wrong in my life.
I just love it so much.
There's absolutely zero chance you can get me out of this loft.
Like if I could have my tiny home entirely on the loft, I would.
It's just the best place on earth.
I love snuggling here with my dogs.
We all sleep here.
I have a queen size bed.
I could 100% fit in a king size bed in here if I wanted to.
It's cozy.
I love when it rains.
I have a copper roof so you can hear it very loud.
And it just puts me to sleep like a baby.
And this is my little photography working station.
So I was looking to buy like maybe a coffee table when I could put stuff on it.
But I couldn't find anything that was the right size
that would fit that little space that I had in here.
And this is the IKEA desk.
I just got it and trimmed the legs and it works just fine.
I use that little platform that I built with like a cushion
to support my back to sit on it.
And it works just great for the desk.
I definitely love that this is a gable roof.
Like I'm 5'10", right?
And I said this is like I think an 8 or 10 inch mattress.
And I'm still sitting here having enough space for my head.
I can't like when I sit in bed, I have enough space on the lower end to sit in bed.
There are days, especially in the winter,
when it's like super cold or nasty raining outside.
And it's a day off that we literally snuggle in that old.
I just live in the loft and I love it.
It's just so cozy.
There is not enough words I could use in my entire life to say how much I love lofts.
I don't foresee this being my forever home,
but I also foresee myself living tiny forever.
My life definitely slowed down and the pace of life changed.
I enjoy being at my home so much.
I don't want to leave.
It's one of the things that makes me feel so happy here.
I own it.
I'm not renting it.
It's like no one's going to kick me out of it.
It's mine forever.
We just feel so safe here and we feel accepted and we feel free.
The awe of all of that, it just never fits my head.
And I get to live my dream every day.
Like how many people get to say I get to live my dream every day?
