Kumano Kodo is one of the ancient pilgrimage trails in Japan. On Honshu Island the Kii Peninsula has the majestic Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine with the Nachi Waterfall cascading powerfully in the background and is also Japan’s tallest waterfall. This sacred landscape has been revered for over a thousand years and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Nachi Waterfall, an awe-inspiring sight that plunges 133 meters into the basin below. Known as one of Japan's three great waterfalls, it is believed to be inhabited by a Shinto deity, making it a focal point of worship and a symbol of purification.
