Luxor Ancient Necropolis Valley
In the rugged mountainous landscape of Luxor Egypt on west side of Nile River are the Theban Hills.
This area takes you on a journey back in time to the ancient world's grandeur of the Pharaohs royal necropolis and the sacred sites of the “Valley of Kings”, “Valley of Queens”, and majestic “Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
The Valley of Kings is a hidden valley beneath the Theban Hills that served as burial ground for Egypt's greatest rulers like Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses. This remote valley is home to over 60 tombs intricately carved deep into limestone rock.
Valley of the Queens, where royal wives, children, and princesses were laid to rest. Here the tombs are smaller but equally magnificent, adorned with colorful frescoes.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most extraordinary monuments. This mortuary temple, carved out of the living rock, rises majestically in terraced levels that blend seamlessly with its mountainous backdrop."
Queen Hatshepsut's temple not only serves as her eternal resting place but also as a testament to her reign's prosperity and success. The paintings depict divine birth and famous trading expedition to Punt illustrating her powerful rule as a female pharaoh.
