Mount St Helens is one of the most active volcanoes in the United States. Mt St Helens last erupted in 1980 - and anyone fascinated by the geology and natural history of the area can hike to the summit of Mount St Helens to see the stunning volcanic crater that still steams from below. The Mt St Helens hike is truly one of the best hikes in Washington state and the PNW, and one of our favorite hikes of the summer so far.
