My Favourite Volcano In Northeast Iceland - Rarely Seen Angle From This Hidden Gem
#stunningnature
This is an ancient volcano i northeast Iceland without a name which is of course a complete disgrace because it deserves more for the colour palette alone. And to make things even more complicated, these mountains are called Fagradalsfjöll or the same name as the mountain that erupted three times near Grindavík between 2021 and 2023, but Fagradalsfjöll is plural which is still enough to confuse search engines and AI. Kollumúli and Dýjafjall are also some of the place names associated with this ancient volcano that is in fact a bit of a loner in this region with numerous visible lava channels due to erosion. This volcano is also associated with the mountain road over "Hellisheiði Eystri" that runs over the mountain range a bit further inland and the location link below is where i parked the car while doing this drone tour that i wish i could have made longer as i was just passing by this time.
Iv'e been busy filming recently which explains why i have been so much around and i'm editing a travel story that will be online soon if i wont take off on the road firs, chasing first utumn colours but things finally got going after a tricky summer so it's plenty to come.
