Breeze Blocks House by Tamara Wibowo Architects is a 180 m² residence located in a hilly area of Semarang, Indonesia, designed with sensitivity to its site and surroundings. Built beside tall retaining walls and dense vegetation, the home features a central courtyard that embraces rather than hides its context. A striking A-frame form is wrapped in custom cement breeze blocks, which provide passive cooling and privacy while creating a distinctive architectural identity. At its core, a sculptural spiral staircase unifies the interior, while the home's thoughtful material palette and layout offer a tranquil, climate-responsive retreat.
