Hi everyone, welcome to Cook Stacey Cook. Today I would like to share my salt and
pepper shrimp recipe with you.
This is a delicious shrimp recipe you can easily make at home.
There is no deep frying in this recipe which makes it even more DIY friendly.
You will still get the same crispy, salty and savory shrimp that you will get
from the restaurant. I will show you step by step how to make it.
Let's get started. We will start by finely mincing 2 cloves of garlic and
cutting some onion into small dice. Then chop some green onion into small pieces
and cut up some pepper into small pieces too. I am using red bell pepper here for
a milder, kids-friendly taste. You can also use red chili pepper to add a
little bit of spiciness. Next, we will prepare some peeled shrimp. Rinse them a few times
with cold water and pat them dry. We don't need to marinate the shrimp. Simply add
some cornstarch and mix it until all the shrimp is covered with the cornstarch.
Now we are ready to cook. Add some oil to a hot pan over medium-high heat and we
will start by pan-frying the shrimp. Simply spread the shrimp out in the pan
and let them pan-fry until the bottom is golden brown. Then turn them over to
pan-fry the other side. When both sides are golden brown, remove the shrimp from
the pan. Using the remaining oil in the pan, we will sauté the garlic, the onion,
the green onion and the red pepper together. After sautéing them for about
5 seconds, move them to one side of the pan and we can quickly toast some white
pepper powder, black pepper powder and salt on the other side of the pan. The
pan is quite hot now, so we only need to toast it to 5 seconds. Then we can mix
everything in the pan together. After mixing all the aromatics in the pan
together, we can add the shrimp back to the pan. Now all we have to do is toss the
shrimp a few times so they are evenly mixed with the aromatics and we are done.
This salt and pepper shrimp smells so good. The shrimp has picked up the
wonderful flavors of the aromatics. It's crispy, salty and just delicious. You can
serve this dish with some rice on the side and you will have an amazing dinner.
