Hello and welcome back to the wild again which is still in Northumberland where I am right at
the minute and just behind me on the rocks over there there is a seal just sat there chilling
and I was taking pictures of it I'm going to go back down in a minute and get some more
it was just letting me it was just like this it was so good so I'll show you the pictures
but why are we back in Northumberland again it's because tomorrow folks I'm off again to
fingers crossed the weather's been good it's good right now it's meant to be good tomorrow
so I'm just so excited to go again the only thing I have to say on the island I'm looking at it
right now I can see it in the distance is that you only get one hour on the island and it goes
so quick like it's not enough for photographers to have an hour so if you are looking at going
just be aware you get one hour one golden hour that is it and it goes very quickly but this is
why I'm going twice so I've had one series already and we'll see what happens in this next series
if it's too repetitive I'm very sorry I'm going to make it very different so anyway on that note
I'm going to get some shots of the scenery of the seal whilst it sat there in the beautiful sunset
I couldn't have wished for anything better so hopefully tomorrow will be the same for you
and I'll try and bring lots of footage lots of pictures and lots of everything
and let's go have an incredible time on the farn islands again and I'll see you there yes
in between darkness and kerosene
the storm made quick work the power line down the street
I find you bundled up waiting for me to light you up
you said something menacing we both laughed as I fell into bed
there's something about these winds
so the equipment I decided to take with me on the farn islands this time was my Fujifilm X-H2S
mainly for my high quality filming and photography I also took my Fujifilm X-H2 which was mainly
for photography I then took the Fujifilm 150 to 600 millimeter my main telephoto lens which I'll
swap between the camera bodies and also my Fujifilm 16 to 55 millimeter which is used for my main
b-roll filming I did not take my gimbal head this time I decided to just take my tripod
and that be it and see what happens so that is everything
so
okay folks hello and welcome back to the farn islands
I've got so many puffins, guillemots, razorbills, everything behind me uh the boat trip out here was
so good my eyes are a bit red because it's so sunny and I've got sun cream on and I've got sun
cream in my eyes but I've seen absolutely everything and it's just amazing so I've got
one hour again and I'm gonna try my best to get some different angles and different shots for you
but just in one week it's amazing how different the islands are in just one week like it's booming
with life I've seen everything there's like guillemots everywhere and it's just so good
so I'm gonna get on and take some pictures but this is fantastic and I'll try and do a quick
send off and I'll show you more of the island because this is just beautiful right I'll crack
on enjoy this it's amazing I'm loving this my eyes are sore but I'm loving it
the razorbill this strikingly beautiful black and white bird is one of my favourite seabirds
especially for its unusual but almost artistic markings on its face I just love it the razorbill
is a medium-sized seabird that nests on cliff ledges and amongst rocks at the bottom of the
cliff it feeds on fish and that's mainly sand eels sprats and herrings which it catches when
searching the upper 20 meters of the sea but they have been known to dive to very deep depths
up to 100 meters which is incredible and just some fun facts for you the razorbill is the
closest living relative to the flightless great auk which went extinct in 1844 and the oldest
quite literally they nest in tightly packed colonies on steep ledges and cliffs around the
coast where they do not make a nest they actually lay their egg directly onto the rocks but the egg
is specially shaped almost a pear shape to stop it falling off the cliff similar to the razorbill
the common guillemot is not afraid of height and will dive off very steep ledges into the ocean
the atlantic puffins have black and white feathers and a large parrot-like beak which is beautiful
and colorful these are very small seabirds measuring around 25 centimeters in length
but what they are in size they make up for in character because they are just adorable and
amazing a fun fact about the puffins bill this is just a temporary color which is during spring
and breeding season just before winter sets in they shed their colorful outer bill leaving a
noticeable smaller and dull colored beak and finally puffins are extremely fast birds they
flap their wings up to 400 times a minute and speed through the air of up to 88 kilometers
have to go back to the boat i'm going to try and get there early today because last time i was a
way it was just so good so i'll do my best and it's really bright today and my eyes are watering
so much they've got sun cream in them and i'm trying to get shots but i'm actually really
struggling today and i'm gonna be honest about this sometimes i just really struggle to get pictures
and it's because of the light time of day and when you go on trips like this you're kind of at the
mercy of the trip organizers when you go like if i can come on here at sunset it would be fantastic
but i can't so i'm trying to make the most of what i can in the moment i'm doing it but it is
pretty tricky it's not easy so yeah i've not really got tons of shots i think i'm like whoa
about which is fine it's just nice to come here for the experience i love being on islands i love
all these birds and seeing the seals seeing the guillemots hearing them it's just wonderful so
it's not just about the pictures and i think it's always worth remembering that yeah it's nice to
get that shot but at the same time i'm not here for that i'm here to enjoy myself on this beautiful
island and it's incredible and it's so nice and i want to come back when the sea campions are out
so i can get pictures of puffins and the flowers that's my favorite thing and yeah i hopefully can
anyway but yeah i just thought i'd be honest with you and how it is sometimes when you do photography
and not to be harsh on yourself it is what it is do enjoy yourself have fun that's what it's about
but i'm just gonna get a few more shots and then i'll have to get back to my boat
and then my next trip is to the island may to do more puffins so you're gonna be sick of puffins
time i've done with this whole vlog series but anyway i shall get going thank you for watching
i hope you've enjoyed this both series and i love the farn islands definitely come here it's amazing
and it's beautiful and until next time you amazing people goodbye for now bye
