Journey to the West: Chapter 3 – Song 3 The Echo in Heaven

Journey to the West: Chapter 3 – Song 3 The Echo in Heaven (Das Echo im Himmel)
A thunder rolls in distant sky,
A monkey dances, proud and high.
In roaring pride, he leaps and boasts,
But silence speaks from Heaven’s posts.
"I'm immortal, I am the flame!
No gate of Heaven can tame my name!"
Yet in the stars, a whisper flies:
“You’re not alone, though power blinds your eyes.”
The lotus petals close with care,
The guardians breathe a sacred prayer.
Upon the clouds, unseen but near,
The law awaits — so bright, so clear.
The echo in Heaven — quiet and deep,
A haunting song that shadows keep.
A spark ignites, a vow grows cold,
A monkey dances — as fate takes hold.
Drums of Heaven, distant, grave,
Whisper of debts no might can save.
He laughs, he rules, he rides the sky,
While karma waits — unseen, nearby.
The stars now tremble, the moons observe,
How prideful hands begin to swerve.
He steals the feast, he mocks the throne,
But in Heaven’s book, all deeds are known.
He bears the sky upon his brow,
But hears not truth — not here, not now.
Silence calls, the sword draws near,
While shadows walk with steps unclear.
The echo in Heaven — faint and true,
A silent verdict coming through.
A breath is held, a monkey shakes,
A curse asleep — now slowly wakes.
He thinks he soars above all things,
But echo rides on unseen wings.
It writes his tale across the skies —
A king must fall when karma cries.
"The Divine Hand writes, the pen is still,
Yet draws the path of fate and will."
"Mock not the heavens, nor the night,
For shadows bloom beyond your sight."
The echo in Heaven — silent and deep,
A monkey dances while secrets creep.
The journey moves, the shadows grow,
A song from Heaven — for those below.
