Good morning! We are currently here outside of Livingston, Montana
where I left you last. Getting camp packed up
to start making our way to Canada. Super excited about it. Didn't get a whole lot
of sleep last night because we went to the concert and
went to bed late once again but the show must go on.
We got to get on the road so uh yeah I'll uh
catch up with you down the road. We spent two nights in Livingston, Montana seeing
one of my favorite bands so I was a little bit sleep deprived.
So far we've been driving primarily through the plains so there hasn't been
much to see. We did stop in Helena at Walmart because
I needed to grab some Sumatra coffee and my favorite
Italian sweet creamer because they don't have either of those things as far as
I could find in Canada the past couple of years so
got stocked up on that and now we're back
in the mountains.
Seeley Lake is part of the Missoula metropolitan area and sits beside the
1,030 acre Seeley Lake.
We have made it here to our camp at the Talley Lake Campground in Whitefish,
Montana. We aren't crossing the border today.
It is already about 6 30 p.m and I am pretty tired so we decided to go ahead
and get camp. We found out about this campground through
our friends Andrew and Lacey. We camped here with them once before
so we decided we'd check it out. They only had a couple of sites available for
tonight. It's pretty busy on a Sunday so summer
is definitely in full swing. We're gonna get camp set up which we
don't have much to do to do that. I'm gonna make some dinner.
We're gonna get a good night's sleep and start out
fresh to cross the border tomorrow.
Tonight I'm cooking up some BLT and E. Bacon, lettuce, tomato and egg.
Should be pretty easy. I've been partying like a rock star the last couple of
nights and I'm not used to that. Partying as much as a sober
person parties but out late dancing
out till let's see the concert ended at 11.
Two nights in a row so if you missed the last video go ahead and check that out.
Let's see what I was talking about. We went and saw one of my favorite bands
Mo. Two nights in a row. Stayed up late. Got up. Did it the next day
and I'm not used to that anymore. I'm a very
early to bed early to rise type of person these days
so yeah definitely took a little bit out of me but we'll have a nice dinner
get a good night's sleep. I should be good as new.
Good morning. I already got coffee going getting some breakfast going and we're
gonna get the truck packed up and get out of here so we can get across the
border today. I slept so well last night and for a
long time. It is almost 10 a.m already. I slept
till after 8. It felt amazing. I feel like a new
woman today that is for sure. So yeah we're probably gonna just
get everything done really quick and get on the road here.
We're not sure where we're camping tonight. We're gonna try for one of the
first come first served campsites in BAMP and I think we have
at least a seven hour drive maybe a little bit more.
So this camp was down a very long dirt road
at least 10 miles.
Eureka Montana. Last town before we hit the Canadian border.
One of the things I absolutely love about road tripping
in the rural western United States is all the
charming little towns I get to go through. This is Eureka
Montana. We just filled up on our last fuel here in the U.S. for a while.
We are almost to the border. I'm a little nervous and excited.
I can't wait. I have a bit of a line here. Hopefully it's not too long.
I was definitely more nervous crossing the border this year in 2025 than I had
been in previous years due to the climate between the U.S. and
Canada. By the way I love you Canada.
Hello how are you?
Sure. Live in California. How are you today? We are headed to BAMP
and Jasper. How long are you planning on going for?
Three weeks approximately. Any firearms weapons or ammunition?
No. There you go. Have a safe trip. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Have a great day. Joseph we are in Canada. How do you feel?
Feel pretty good. Yeah? Yeah. Go Canada.
I am stoked. It was a pretty easy process. It took us
approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Not bad at all. The line wasn't too bad.
It was pretty smooth and we are in Canada.
Had a bit of a change in climate since we've got here
into Canada. Dropped about 21 degrees in temperature and it is
very cloudy and raining right now which is actually
welcome because it was pretty hot where we were in Montana.
Chris Wilde live sighting here in Canada.
Big horn sheep. Oh go on baby. We are currently in Kootenai National
Park. We're following the Kootenai River. We've been following that for
since we got into Canada essentially. So we're getting very close to BAMP. We're
about an hour away from the campground and we are sitting at about 35 degrees
less than what we were yesterday in Montana.
So that is one of the reasons that we wanted to head up this way as well.
There's many reasons but that is definitely one of the reasons
we wanted to come up this way. It's much cooler.
We've made it to our campsite here at Mosquito Creek
in BAMP. It's a first come first serve camp
grounds and they had several sites open. It is about 6 p.m.
It is a Monday but I still thought it might be
full and luckily it wasn't. So I'm very relieved. I think I'm gonna go ahead and
say good night here on this chilly overcast night.
We're gonna get camp set up. Maybe have a fire
but other than that probably go to bed. I'll see you in the morning. We'll explore
some the beautiful Canadian Rockies. So excited
to be here. See you tomorrow. Good night.
Good morning. Waking up here in the truck. Got a little condensation going.
It's a chilly morning. Definitely a big difference from
temps I've been waking up to the last few days.
I like it though. I actually like it cooler like this. I prefer that than
the hot. Waking up in the heat. We're gonna get up and get some coffee
going pretty soon and go explore today. We'll probably head
down to Banff and maybe
explore some lakes along the way. We really don't have a plan so we'll have
to see how it all pans out but one thing I can guarantee you is it's
not left camp. We actually have been looking around
the campground to situate ourselves better at a better
site because a lot of people have left. We found a really good site. I need more
sunlight for solar. The sun is coming out. There just happens to be a cloud over
the sun right now but yeah we found a site that's right next to the creek.
There's still some privacy and I should be able to get more sunlight
with the view of the mountains and everything. So we're kind of just packing
up and getting ready to move over to that site.
Luckily it is light until after 10 p.m here so we still have the entire day
in front of us.
And here is our new site. It's the view behind us and here is the
view in front of us. Pretty epic and the creek is right there to the
left of the truck. One of the things that we need to do today
is go to the grocery store because we brought hardly any food
over with us. We just didn't want to have any hassles going over
the border with food so we came over pretty empty
and now we need to stock up. We don't need a ton of stuff however because I
think we will be going on a backpacking trip
in a few days.
Banff is one of Canada's most popular tourist destinations.
Known for its mountain surroundings and hot springs it is a destination for
outdoor sports and hiking, biking, scrambling,
and skiing.
We are just cruising the streets of Banff here and it is very busy.
We wound up heading over to Canmore to shop at the Safeway.
I spared you the visuals on that because it's just a
standard Safeway just like we have in the states. We got stocked up on some
groceries and we bought a big sandwich. We're gonna try to find a
picnic area to enjoy our sandwich hopefully with a pretty view.
Joey's already stolen a piece out of this but look how huge it is.
Good morning. It is time for coffee. An official good morning to you. We
wound up spending yesterday kind of just running errands and taking care of
things. We had to go again stock up on groceries.
Went to Banff. Went to Canmore. We stopped at the
river and had our sandwich lunch and then
by the time we got back to camp it was pretty busy here. It was full.
The campground was full so we just chilled out.
Enjoyed the evening and I didn't film anything so sorry I lost you.
Today we plan on going and moving camps trying to find another camp
up more closer to Jasper. Jasper is where we want to do our backpacking trip so we
want to move that way for now. Probably come back here to Banff.
Probably do some backpacking here as well but for now we're going to move up
that way. Hopefully find a great camp that way and
explore along the way today.
Icefield Parkway. Very very beautiful drive.
Stopping here at this gorgeous picnic area for
a coffee break. Too bad we can't camp right here.
It's absolutely gorgeous. It's still feeling a little bit surreal to me to be
here right now. I'm so excited. I love Canada. Canada I
love you. To all my Canadian viewers thank you for
allowing me to be here. Oh man it's awesome.
The Icefields Parkway also known as Highway 93 North
is a scenic 232 kilometer highway connecting Lake Louise and Banff
National Park and Jasper and Jasper National Park.
It's renowned for its breathtaking views of glaciers,
snow-capped mountains, turquoise lakes and wildlife.
The drive is a popular route especially during the summer months and is
here to our campsite at Kirkessling Campground in Jasper National Park. We
stopped at several different ones along the way and settled on this one.
Got a nice fire going. It's real private here in the woods
and yeah we're just gonna chill out here. I'm gonna make some tacos later on.
Tomorrow we'll be moving a little further north closer to the town of
Jasper proper. We'll be staying at a campground
called Whistler's Campground where we'll be able to get showers for the
first time in almost a week and I know we're both really looking forward to
that. We'll also start planning our
backpacking trip. I think I'm going to go ahead and wrap up this video here.
The drive today was absolutely stunning. I hope that you enjoyed coming along on
this road trip up here to Canada with me. Seeing some of our first moments here in
Canada. Our first camps. There's going to be more
adventures obviously from here to come and I hope that you'll all stay tuned
for that. Thank you all so much for joining me.
