BMW M1000RR! TRACK DAY with BMW and Tom Lüthi at Circuit Dijon-Prenois!

Good morning from Dijon, France, and welcome to BMW track days. We are so excited to be heading to the Dijon racetrack today. But last night we went out, had a few drinks, and yesterday we saw Dijon. But this is our little apartment we have here. This is the view of Dijon from our window. It's very cute little maisonette. This is our living room and kitchen. Upstairs, we have a bathroom and a bedroom. It's really been perfect staying here. We stayed with an Airbnb host. It's been great, but we are already slightly running late. So we need to get in the car and we need to get to the track. So we'll see you all on the road. So here we are at Dijon racetrack. Sean is just signing in, doing all of the paperwork that you need to ride, making sure he's got all of the right equipment. And yeah, it's kind of just warming up here. A lot of people are just arriving and just grabbing some photographs. It's all very exciting. I think I'm more nervous than Sean is. It's funny because I never really worry about him on the road, but when it's a track, it's a little bit different, I think. So I definitely have some nerves this morning. But let's go see if we can go and see a few of the bikes that's here. I know the S1000R is here, which is one of my favorite bikes. So we're going to go and see that. And yeah, see who else we can find. I know Tom Leaty will be arriving a little bit later. So we're going to see if we can catch up with him. But otherwise, we need to go check in with Sean and make sure that he's got all of his documents. And then, yeah, get him in his race suit and get race ready. So let's go. Thank you very much. You're welcome. Was nice? It was nice. Perfect. Go on. Take the mouth, drink a bit of water, and come back in. So just been for a ride on the S1000R here at Dijon. It was absolutely amazing. The levels of concentration you need on the track. I didn't realize. But yeah, followed a guide around. Shown us some lines. Really good training. I'm just about to have a debrief to tell me how slow I actually went. He was great. Don't listen to him. I have video evidence to tell us more. But really awesome track. Fantastic first experience. Really big thanks to BMW for letting us take that bike out. Yeah, and you have a few more times out now. Thanks to my dear wife, Emily, for allowing me. OK, so session two. We're heading out now. Had some great tips. Hopefully, it can make a little bit easier for me. So Shown's just had a little lesson. And now he's going to go around again. It's so loud here. I felt like I was out forever. Yeah, you were out for so long. They're just fueling it up. But Shown's already been out for like 20 minutes. You're looking worse for wear. It's not easy, all this racing around. But this is the one he's taking out next. We'll see it on the track, how it performs. All right, what's been your favorite bike so far? Actually, I like the S1000R. Really? It's super nimble, insanely fast, and yeah, lots of fun. A little bit windy on the straights, though. But that's about 230 to 240 kilometers an hour. So just waiting for my last session of the day. I think I've done about four sessions. I think this one's about 20 minutes long. Last ride's going to be on the M1000RR. Quite looking forward to that one. I think it's basically the same as the S1000RR. It's just a lot lighter and probably has a better power to weight ratio and a lot more settings. But I'm going to keep it on dynamic or road mode just to play it safe for now. Well, it's been a great day here in Dijon. The weather has been fantastic. Day started off pouring down. And I thought we might not even get one lap in. But it has been really fantastic. Em's done a great job getting the photos and the video. So thanks to her as well. Big thanks to BMW Switzerland for letting me ride all those bikes, prepping them up for us. I'd like to do it again. So there goes the chequered flag. And here he comes down the straight back into the pit lane. He did incredible. What a bike. I normally ride the GS. Yeah, I know. So it's completely different. Oh, fantastic. It's nice. It's really nice. You normally ride the GS. To see how fast they go and so on, you know. Just go and enjoy it. Yeah, it's like your own pace in your own world. And everyone's having fun. Yeah, and without me on the back going, you're going too fast. Nobody headbutting me every time I brake. That's helpful, yeah. So that's goodbye from us, from Dijon Racetrack.
