In the last 1-1.5 years, there have been a lot of curiosities about Vietnam in the minds of Indian tourists.
If you are also one of those tourists, then I am making this video for you.
In this video, I will try to share all the information related to Vietnam with you.
Like when you should go to Vietnam, how many days you should go, how can you go, how do you get a visa, where can you get a SIM card,
which currency works, which can be the best way to use the Vietnamese Dong there.
What should be the itinerary of your trip and how much will be your expense.
This is all the information in this video.
So let's start this video without wasting time.
Hi, my name is Saurabh and you are watching my channel Bonding Vlog.

Before going to any country or destination, it is important for us to know which is the best time to go there,
that is, which weather is suitable.
Vietnam is one of those tricky countries where it is very difficult to know which month is suitable to visit the whole country.
Because in different parts, like if you see the map of Vietnam, then North, Central and South,
there are a lot of activities, attractions, touristic in all three parts.
I did a lot of research and saw that the month of February is completely suitable to explore the whole country,
while rainfall is the lowest in the whole country.
But if you want to target a particular part, say you want to target North Vietnam,
then the months can be different for that.
Like you can easily cover North Vietnam from September to January-February.
At that time, if you cover North Vietnam and want to see South and Central together,
then you will have to trust your luck factor a little,
that if you are going to explore North, Central and South,
then you pray that you don't get rainfalls in the rest of the parts.
If we talk about how we can go from India to Vietnam,
Vietjet has started a lot of direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi
for destinations like Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phuket.
Although Vietjet is not a very good airline and my experience is not very good,
but for now it is the only option.
Apart from this, you will also get a direct flight from Kolkata for Ho Chi Minh.
If you live around these three cities, then you can plan your trip accordingly.
You will get direct flights easily.
And one important point is that when you book a flight,
then my suggestion would be that you start your trip from one city and end it in another city.
The whole country of Vietnam is settled in S-shape from North to South.
So if you want, you can start from Hanoi and finish your trip in Ho Chi Minh
or you can start from Ho Chi Minh and finish your trip in Hanoi.
In this way, you don't have to go back and forth to the same place.
This saves you money and time.
After the flights, if we talk about the visa situation there,
then the visa in Vietnam is very simple.
There is a website, I will put the link in the description,
where you have to share some details, like what are the details of your trip.
The e-visa issued for a month is valid for a month.
You have to put the entry date in it,
you have to put the entry airport,
you have to put the details of your passport's bio-data page,
passport's bio-page scan, passport size photo scan.
When you upload all these things,
then you will officially get an e-visa in 3 working days.
But my experience says that you should do this application at least a week in advance.
And to do this application, you have to pay with a credit or debit card.
Online, in my experience, I used SBI's credit card.
Through that, the payment was done easily.
There was an issue of payment on the remaining 2-3 cards.
Your visa has arrived.
After the visa, let's talk about your travel insurance,
which is currently mandatory with a US$10,000 coverage.
For Vietnam travel, many people ask me different questions
whether I should take travel insurance or not.
Even where it is not mandatory,
I suggest people that it is highly recommended
that if you are going out of India,
then you should take travel insurance.
The cost of travel insurance is very small in comparison to what you are spending.
It will not hurt you at all.
And the coverage it provides is unparalleled.
Travel insurance is a must,
whether the country is mandating you or not.
You have taken your visa,
your flight ticket has been arranged,
now you must be thinking how many days you can explore Vietnam.
Vietnam is a very big country in terms of attractions.
So you need to plan very well.
If you want to get a basic feel of the whole country,
if you want a rough exploration,
then according to me, you should spend at least 10 days in Vietnam.
I spent 8 days,
still a lot of things were untouched
and I was running a lot.
So 8 days were less for me.
Now assume 10 days,
that you should spend 10 days in Vietnam,
so that you can explore Vietnam properly.
After reaching Vietnam,
two things that are most needed in today's rate,
that is the local currency.
In the case of Vietnam, it is Vietnamese Dong.
What is the rate of Vietnamese Dong vs INR today,
you will get it written on the screen.
There are two ways to get Vietnamese Dong.
One is to convert some of your INR from India to USD,
because the rates of US dollars are the best worldwide.
The second way is to take an international debit card like NIO with you,
which does not require any markup charge.
ATM withdrawal charges,
the first charge of a month is also reversed.
I have used NIO's debit card many times during the whole trip,
and I have no problem anywhere.
Along with withdrawal,
wherever there is a swiping machine,
you can use NIO's card there.
If you do not have NIO's card,
I am putting the link in the description,
you can apply there to get NIO's new debit card.
According to me, NIO is the best and safest bet.
If you are comfortable carrying cash,
then you can definitely convert USD.
But yes, do not convert at the airport,
the rates are very bad.
You go out of the airport and go to the city,
convert there.
And in today's data age,
the most important thing is the SIM card.
If you want, you can activate your roaming from here,
of Jio, Airtel, Vodafone, MTNL, VSNL.
But it is very costly.
The cost of 10 days is around Rs. 3500-Rs. 3600.
If you go to Vietnam and buy a SIM card,
not from the airport,
it is expensive at the airport,
it will cost around Rs. 1000.
If you buy it from outside,
you will get a 4.5 GB sim card in Rs. 400-500,
which is sufficient,
because you will get Wi-Fi in hotels.
In Vietnam, you can divide getting around in two ways.
One will be the planning of intercity transport,
that is, how you have to go from Hanoi to Da Nang,
and from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh.
The other will be how you have to travel within Hanoi.
So I am telling both things separately.
So if we talk about getting around in the country,
if we talk about intercity travel,
then you have to go from Hanoi to Da Nang,
from Da Nang to Da Lat,
from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh.
There are many options to do any intercity travel.
There are also very convenient options.
If you have more time,
if you want to save some money,
then you can take a train or bus.
If you are booking in advance,
then you will get the flight at more or less the same price,
and when it takes.
So if you want to go from Hanoi to Da Nang,
or from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh,
to cover any city,
flight is the most convenient option.
If you want to explore the country,
then you have the option of train or bus.
There are many convenient buses like sleeper, limousine,
for intercity travel.
Now let's talk about intercity travel.
If you want to explore a city,
like Ho Chi Minh,
Hanoi or Da Nang,
then in all these cities,
if you are comfortable,
to ride a bike,
then the best option is to ride a bike.
You can explore all the cities of Vietnam by bike,
whether it is Sapa, Da Nang, Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh or any other city.
Because Vietnam is also known as a country of bikes.
And the rental is also very convenient.
With difficulty, you can get a taxi or bike for Rs. 500-600 per day,
to explore the whole day,
in that particular city.
If you are not comfortable to ride a bike,
then you can easily hire a taxi for the whole day.
There are different rates on different portals between Rs. 2,500-4,000.
I have booked a taxi from Klook.
I will put the link in the description,
you can book it from there if you want.
Just like Uber in India,
Grab app is very popular in South-East Asia,
through which you can book a taxi.
Grab is much cheaper than the curbside taxi.
You can use Klook taxi to come and go from the airport.
Klook rates are relatively cheaper.
In some cases, there is Grab.
So you can compare both the options,
and you can explore the cheaper option.
After this, let's talk about the accommodation option.
Vietnam is one of those countries,
where you get a lot of accommodation in economical prices.
In some cities like Da Nang and Nha Trang,
you can easily get 5-star hotels for Rs. 4,000-6,000.
You can easily get good rating hotels in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh
for Rs. 1,500-2,000.
If you are traveling on a budget,
then you will get a better country than Vietnam.
As I told you in the beginning,
it should take at least 10 days to explore Vietnam properly.
So this itinerary is for 10 days.
I am sharing the link in the description.
You can check the details from there.
What activities you can do in 10 days.
Now I will briefly tell you,
how your 10 days will pass in Vietnam.
First of all, you are landing in Hanoi.
If you land in Hanoi in the morning,
then go to the hotel,
freshen up,
take some rest,
and then explore Hanoi for the whole day.
The next day,
if you want to take a limousine, bus or taxi,
I will share the link in the description.
You can book a taxi from there and go to Sapa.
So anyway,
wake up as early as possible,
and go to Sapa.
It takes around 5-5.5 hours to reach Sapa from Hanoi city.
You will reach Sapa around 12-1 am.
Explore Sapa for the whole day.
There are a lot of attractions.
I have shared the link in the description.
You will get the details there.
Stay in Sapa at night.
Explore Sapa for the whole day the next day.
You will get a bus in the evening,
which will take you directly to Halong Bay.
If you want a convenient option,
you can use the limousine to reach Hanoi,
and then go to Halong Bay from Hanoi.
It will take a little more time.
Plus,
you will have to take a break.
The bus will take you directly to Halong Bay.
I will share all the relevant links
for travel booking
in the description.
You will reach Halong Bay.
If your budget allows in Halong Bay,
then definitely try to
explore and enjoy
a one night two day cruise.
The cost of this cruise
starts from Rs. 20,000-22,000
for two people.
Everything is included in it.
All activities, all meals.
You will definitely enjoy it.
If you don't want to spend so much,
then you can easily do a day cruise
of Halong Bay for Rs. 6,000-7,000.
You can take a direct bus from Halong Bay.
I have kept the bus option in my itinerary.
If you want, you can go back to Hanoi from Halong Bay.
You can catch a flight from Hanoi
and go to Danang.
It will take 15-16 hours
if you take a bus from Halong Bay.
You will reach Danang the next morning.
The night will be in transit.
You will reach Danang.
That day, you can explore
the beautiful city of Danang
and Hoi An.
You can explore these two cities on the first day.
On the second day,
you can explore Bana Hills.
Bana Hills is famous
for its Golden Hand Bridge.
There is a lot to see there
apart from that bridge.
You will spend the whole day in Bana Hills.
You will come back in the evening.
You can explore the remaining things in Danang.
You can stay back in Danang at night.
You can leave early morning
for Dalat.
It is your choice
how you want to go from Danang to Dalat.
According to my itinerary,
you can easily reach Dalat by flight.
It is a one-hour flight.
You can spend two days
and one night in Dalat.
There is a lot to explore in Dalat.
After spending two days in Dalat,
you can go to Ho Chi Minh.
After spending one or two days in Ho Chi Minh,
you can catch a flight
and explore Ho Chi Minh.
Then you can reach your city.
This is the 10-day itinerary.
In this itinerary,
if you want to subtract ads,
you can adjust your days
according to your needs.
I have not made a fast itinerary.
You will have sufficient time
to relax and explore Vietnam.
Let's talk about
the most important point
that how much you will spend.
That is how much budget you should keep.
All the budgets I have kept
are on the higher side.
I have kept internal flights.
You can plan according to your budget.
If you are following my budget,
you can plan accordingly.
If you want to reduce
you can use local buses.
You can do that too.
The budget I am telling you
is for two people.
There are a lot of questions
regarding the budget.
The first expense
is to travel from India to Vietnam.
I have kept Rs. 40,000 for that.
There are many flights of Vietjet
including one check-in baggage.
You can easily spend
Rs. 40,000 for two people.
If we talk about visa,
it is around Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000.
If we talk about travel insurance,
it is around Rs. 1,000.
If we talk about visa
and travel insurance,
it is around Rs. 21,000
for the internal movement
in the country.
I have kept flights.
Hanoi to Da Nang,
Da Nang to Dalat, Dalat to Ho Chi Minh.
This flight expense
is around Rs. 21,000 for two people.
If we talk about
internal city transfer,
like biker, taxi,
it is around Rs. 7,000.
As I told you,
hotels are very economical.
Out of 10, you will be staying
in a hotel for 8 nights.
You can calculate
if you are going to stay
in a hotel for more nights.
I have kept Rs. 20,000 for hotels
and if we talk about food,
in case of food,
I have assumed that
if you have breakfast with hotel stay,
you will have to take 2 meals.
Around Rs. 2,000 per day,
2 people can easily eat food in Vietnam.
If you are a vegetarian,
you will reach very close to Rs. 2,000.
If you are a non-vegetarian,
you can easily manage food in Vietnam.
One important expense
that is often missed is
activities and attractions.
For this, I have kept Rs. 20,000
for 2 people,
in which the expenses of
going to Fancy Pan Mountain in Sapa,
the expenses of going to Bana Hill,
the entrance tickets
are included.
Apart from that, there are many
small attractions and activities
that I have tried to cover in this.
Another big expense in Vietnam
is for Halong Bay.
I have kept Rs. 25,000 for Halong Bay.
If you are taking a night cruise,
you can save around Rs. 15,000-17,000
if you are taking a day cruise,
which will cost around Rs. 7,000-8,000.
Another small expense is
Rs. 500 for a SIM card.
This is very important
if you are travelling.
If you add all these expenses,
it will cost around Rs. 1,50,000
for 2 people's 10-day trip to Vietnam.
You might be thinking
that it is too much.
I have definitely kept it high
so that you can easily cover it.
What happens is that
if you under budget,
your expenses increase
and you start worrying.
If you keep your budget high
and reduce your expenses,
you will be happy.
If you reduce your travel time,
your expenses will be reduced.
I hope you liked this video.
The budget and itinerary
that I shared in this video,
a lot of people were demanding
that I share my budget and itinerary.
If you want to know in detail,
you will find the playlist
in the corner and description.
I will bring a new video soon.
Until then, take care,
be happy, keep smiling,
stay healthy, bye bye and take care.
