A Stunning 1940s Bulova Restored

Easily one of the dressiest looking pocket watches I've seen, this 1941 Bulova has a stunning two tone gold and purple dial accented by gold leaf roman numerals.

My best guess is that this watch was either dropped or thrown, as the cap and hole jewel for the balance were shattered, as well as the canon pinion being nearly knocked off it's post. To my surprise the balance staff was completely fine, as evidenced by the timegrapher results!

It's always a treat to be able to restore pocket watches like this. Clearly this watch meant a lot to the original owner (enough that they kept the original clamshell case!).
