hand sewing an 18th century round gown

in this video, we take a look at how fashion evolved into the 1770s round gown, how the sewing techniques used affected fashion, and finally, hand sew the dress. This sort of round gown is made like an english gown with sewn-down pleats at the back. It was a remake of earlier 1740s fashion and often used that era's fashionable silks! It was basically the retro fashion of the 1770s! I made mine using the original techniques using a silk brocade in the 1740s style.
