On June 21 and 22, 2025, New Century Films’ latest production, New Silver Screen Dreams, premiered at the Everyman Cinema in Liverpool and the Conference Centre in Manchester, UK. The film’s producer and cast attended the screenings, engaging with the audience in person. Several government officials also came to offer their congratulations.
Premiere in Liverpool & Manchester, England
Very refreshing.
Very important to see this film.
The movie was really very good.
It's quite moving.
This film is very good and it touches people's mind and body.
Very exciting.
And personally, I think it's very touching as well.
What a wonderful film.
I think we were all taken aback by the plot, which was so original.
And I just wanted to say, thank you to the film,
and many congratulations to everybody being involved.
And thank you for bringing it to Liverpool.
If you behave fairly and kindly,
good things happen in your life, and even miracles.
I was very thrilled to come here.
I got up at 5 o'clock this morning
because I didn't want to miss this opportunity, to miss this premiere today.
And I'm so happy that I'm here today.
I really fully enjoyed it.
And the message you're giving,
the peace, compassion,
and the family connection to support each other,
which is very, very important in life,
and I'm a bit surprised that the real story relates to the production.
The moral and the story of the film is very true at this moment in time
in terms of compassion and hope.
And as the MP for Liverpool Riverside,
I'm very proud and very privileged to have
the Europe's oldest established Chinese community in my constituency.
And the Chinese community brings so much vibrancy to my city.
One of the things that we want to do through education, through culture,
is learn more about all aspects of
Chinese culture, Chinese history,
contemporary issues in China,
and that's something we want to do.
And I think the film very much shone a spotlight on that,
and that's something.
We welcome and we want to see more of that in Liverpool.
And thank you again for coming from all the way from Canada,
and whenever you're in London, please come and visit me,
or give me any opportunity if I can be of any little help.
I'll always be there.
It was unlike a lot of movies you see these days.
It took a very moral position, but it wasn't taking a high ground.
It was doing it in a sensitive, kind way,
and it turned the whole situation on its head.
We got that hint at the beginning,
that something magical was going to happen.
And it did, ultimately.
It was wonderful.
It was very uplifting.
A message of love, hope, and humanity compassionate,
which the world needs that as much as it needs, particularly around this time.
So I'm very grateful to be here today.
I thought it was a really good film.
I think the message conveyed, I think is very pertinent
to this day and age,
you know, in terms of compassion and hope.
It's a good message about how you support your family,
how you support the community and how you support the people and
it's a good message.
I think it should be promoted more.
It connected in a good way.
It wasn't lecturing us,
but it did show that wonderful things can happen
if you have a truly deep belief in something that is good.
About art and culture has an impact in our communities
in terms of resonating and providing positive messages,
more so than a documentary,
or a news broadcast, I think, you know,
using art and culture as a way to share positive messages
is something that we, in our city of Liverpool, do and do very well.
Promoting humanity and hope and stories and to be kind.
And particularly, I really like the story where the part involved forgiveness.
So that is a very important part.
People should be more tolerant
and inclusive of each other. This is true. This is the truth.
If everyone can do this, I think it will be great.
So I think the message is there,
being compassionate, be supportive to each other, be friendly.
It's a film about hope. It's transformative.
Promoting freedom of religion and human rights values, at the same time,
it significantly holds the human core value of love.
That is what humanity, society, the world needs.
So thank you for inviting me once again.
We're really proud to have such a great Chinese community,
and I thought it was wonderful.
This film was brought to us by our Chinese community,
so very grateful for them doing that,
but I think it's a film for everybody.
I hope more and more people will watch this film,
and they can pass this message to many people
that this film is relevant to everybody's life.
So we must watch this.
So we should not miss this.
I hope that we can have a continued friendship
and relationship in the months and years to come to, thank you.
An awful lot of people need to take on some of those messages.
That must go as further as it can
and more people should watch.
And again, thank you to New Century Films
for flying all the way from Canada
and producing this film and showing us this.
I'm really grateful to all of you for your hard work.
Thank you again and my best wishes are with you
and keep doing the good work and we’re always behind you.
Can we go out, spread the word,
and ask people to watch this film.
