What Rocket Lab just did after SpaceX Humiliated Blue Origin...
If we’re talking about a real threat to SpaceX, forget Blue Origin, it’s Rocket Lab!
In recent years, Rocket Lab has quietly risen as a powerful new player. They’ve been growing slowly but steadily, and now, they’re clearly ready to compete with the giants of the space industry.
Not only have they managed to snatch a good chunk of the market from SpaceX, they’ve also left Blue Origin, SpaceX’s longtime rival, looking totally embarrassed.
And just recently, what they pulled off with their Electron rocket took the entire space community by surprise.
So, how did a small private company end up putting pressure on the biggest names in space?
Let’s find out in today’s episode of Alpha Tech.

Lately, it seems like some SpaceX fans have quietly drifted away or disheartened by the string of setbacks surrounding Starship and the company’s ground infrastructure.
But let’s be fair, this is still just the beginning of a long and ambitious journey. Elon Musk’s ultimate goal has always been Mars, and what we’re seeing now is simply the first chapter of that mission.
That’s only part of the picture. On the technical side, SpaceX is pushing hard to steer development back on track. Pad A is being actively repaired and upgraded so Ship 37 can perform a static fire test there, laying the groundwork for Starship Flight 10, currently expected in early August.
And while Starship grabs the spotlight, we shouldn’t overlook the backbone of SpaceX’s success, the Falcon fleet. Falcon 9 alone has already flown 506 times, with a mind-blowing 99.6% success rate. Just three failures. That kind of reliability is unmatched in the history of spaceflight.
Then there’s Falcon Heavy, launched 11 times, with a flawless 100% success rate.

Of course, none of these achievements came easy. Behind those numbers are years of trial and error, fiery failures, and moments when SpaceX was on the brink of bankruptcy. But they kept going. And now, they’re setting standards the rest of the industry can only dream of.

However, there is one company that’s quietly edging closer to the level SpaceX has achieved, and that’s Rocket Lab.
Their small but reliable Electron rocket has completed 68 orbital launches, with only 4 failures, an impressive 94% success rate. Who knows? Maybe one day, they could even challenge some of SpaceX’s records. It’s a long shot, sure, but you can’t ignore the progress they’ve made.
Especially when you compare them to Blue Origin.
