For the third movement of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, I focused particularly on its recurring brilliant line, uninhibited “drunken” Russian theme, and yearning melody. For the piece’s characteristic brief outbursts I tried to mimic the style of Tchaikovsky’s famed symphonic masterpieces.
